Tonight's "John Ziegler Show" on KFI 640AM in Southern CA played a clip from Senator John F Kerry's appearance at Pasadena City College with candidate Phil Angelides, Democrat for CA governor.
At the event, Kerry had this to say about our brave military volunteers:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
I know, I know, dangling preposition...
Keep your head down! We've got your six! Write my name on a few rounds and put 'em to good use, will ya.

Of course, he left out the part where he was supposed to say "forget education, the most important factor by far is if you can marry a super-rich heiress (wife #1) or MEGA-rich widow (wife #2) to smooth the way for you.....failing that, at least make sure you have a nice juicy trust fund like my pal Ted "Swimmer" Kennedy!!"

People send me these audio clips all the time and I’m never sure whether to run them or not. Without the audio of the whole speech, I can’t tell if the comments were later qualified, retracted, embellished, etc. So let’s just go ahead and assume that Kerry caught himself the moment this left his lips and immediately disavowed/clarified it. Okay? Full benefit of the doubt here.
That said, it’s awfully stupid. And, of course, completely politically tone-deaf, which makes it vintage JFK. As usual, you can kind of tell what he’s trying to say but it’s so artless you just end up shaking your head.
The guy who sent it to me says it comes from a speech Kerry gave today on behalf of Phil Angelides. John Ziegler of KFI 640AM in L.A. picked it up and the rest is history.

Kerry is toast, he will never recover from this but the idiots in Mass will keep voting for him.
Two points:
I am Kerry's age and am serving voluntarily right now with the Marines at Al Asad in Al Anbar. I am better educated than John Kerry. I believe that we will change the course of history if we succeed here. We will only fail if the American people lose the will to support what we are doing.
Second, when I read Kerry's remarks I think he is subconciously telling us that he cleverly suceeded in getting out of Viet Nam by manipulating people and situations getting three easy purple hearts and going home after 4 months. I see Marines Sailors and Soldiers everyday who are recovering from wounds more serious that any Kerry suffered and who will not go home and leave their comrades. Cut and run Kerry wants to cut and run again. John Kerry simply does not have the character to be Commander in Chief.
It just shows he has absolutely no understanding of the military. A soldier has to be well-educated in order to work the equipment. That's one reason why the Pentagon doesn't want the draft - by the time a draftee will learn to work the equipment, the tour of duty will be up.
