Massachusetts Recall Election for John Kerry?
Massachusetts General Law ^

Posted on 10/31/2006 6:10:11 PM PST by Steely eyed killer of the deep

Are there any Massachusetts election law experts who know how to start a recall effort for John Kerry?

My idea is, have a petition drive with volunteers legally distanced from polling places on Tuesday to jump start this effort.

Barring that:

Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"Kerry Resignation"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition service, at:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/zr5g2952/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself.

Best wishes,

Does Massachusetts even have a recall provision in its state constitution? Typically only states west of the Mississippi do (Kansas not being among them). And can such things apply to federal offices whose elections are governed by the US Constitution?

Why get yourself all worked up? Kerry won't resign. If there were a recall, he'd win with 60% of the vote here in MA.

So was Uncle Teddy out there joining the protest against his BROTHER'S WAR? John F Kennedy was as much a part ot eh VN war as Nixon was. I wish people would remember that Kennedy and Johnson were presidents durint that war, too!

I dunno about sacking this sack. He seems to be doing more for our side with his snarkiness. I will be quite interested to look at some of the poll numbers this weekend as the effects of his latest case of diarrhea of the mouth hit the trail...

And Massachusetts has no such recall provision as we have here in California.

IIRC, no recall possible for Senators or Reps. Only impeachment.

You're dreaming! The idiots of mASSachusetts keep electing these elitist idiots with 'K' sounding names cause they LIKE them (and cause they're stupid). They'll never ask for sKerry's resignation or recall him. It just won't happen. Sorry. I wish it were otherwise.

That's a good point. Hitler relied on the brainwashed, misguided masses. War reparations against Germany also helped and now these socialists are relying on class envy, etc..

I tried Kerry's phone and it's off the hook. I wrote him a scathing email demanding that he resign. Everybody should. Here's the link: http://kerry.senate.gov/v3/contact/email.html
I also wrote McCain thanking him for his remarks and suggesting that he ask Kerry to resign.

A recall petition sounds great. Even though a recall would take years in Massachusetts and ultimately get shot down by the courts, the idea for now is to get a Kerry recall drive into the news ASAP so as to take the best advantage possible of Kerry's incredibly stupid, disgraceful and irresponsible statement.

Thanks for confirming that, the only MA recall I could find was a special act by the state legislature(?):

Even tougher... but averaging a new signature a minute to the resignation petition!

I surely could be wrong but it seems possible that once an individual has been duly elected to the Senate (or House) the only way that such an elected official can be involuntarily removed from office is according to Federal law and/or the internal rules of the body in question.

Hanoi Kerry should be tried and convicted of treason, but first Congress should change the penalty for treason (U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 3) to death by hanging.

Massachusetts does not allow the recall of public officials.

If Heinz-Kerry had an ounce of decency about him, he'd resign.

He is a disgrace to his wife's dead husband's family's fine, delicious, ketchup.

The chance of that working is about 0%. Sad to say but Senator Skerry has that seat for as long as he wants it. He is like Ted Kennedy. Nothing will displace him.

Never happen.

Any population that keep electing Fat Ted will never recall Kerry---and I live in the ridiculous place.

We are about to get an ultra liberal millionaire Dem as governor too.

What a sink this state has become.
