That what my niece told me. She has never been to Juneau. I went to a big store that sold lots of stuff while I was in Juneau while on a tiger cruise on the USS Juneau, I didn't check to see if any of the stuff was made in China though, was that Freddys?

Well I guess if Walmart was trying to squelch liberal bashing of their corporation by joining the gay chamber of commerce and contributing money to their cause, this pretty much tells them that worked out well. s/
Between the media and unions bashing them and those joining the boycott, Walmart is going to be pretty much up the creek, looking to buy a paddle!

Can anyone PLEASE give me the location of a Walmart that sells 90% merchandise made in China?Yeah, try Fairbanks Alaska, and shut the hell up about it.
Just kidding about the shut up part. Oh yeah, and the Fairbanks part too.

In high school I worked for a telemarketing firm that collected donations for Special Olympics. One week the boss decided everyone should come in and make calls on a Saturday. That Saturday was my Confirmation. Even though it was not a regularly scheduled day they still counted it as one of my three sick days. So, when I was sick I was given a lecture about the importance of showing up for work no matter how sick my mother said I was. I quit shortly after that for other reasons.
Basically, I'm saying Wal-Mart's policy sounds normal.

I've never been able to figure out what fuels this downright hatred of Walmart? Let me take a stab at it - I'll try to think like a Union Boss -
"Walmart has tens of thousands of employees. If we could force them to go union - and all those employees had to pay us dues, we'd make...."

At Wal-Mart these days, snowy weather is no longer an excuse for lateness. It had better be a natural disaster like a hurricane or blizzard. What else is a blizzard but snowy weather?

You could almost get the impression Walmart is run by President Bush. They're both responsible for the downfall of Rome, global warming, cellulite and the pollen count Thank for the chuckle -

If I were a local Walmart store manager I think I'd be just as upset as the workers. The centralization described in the article turns the manager into another clerk.
To: Mr. Brightside
I can't believe an employer would get upset if an employees were late on numerous occasions or were no shows. How selfish of them. sarc/

How many "tardy"s. do you get in union jobs???? I worked 34 years for a company with a union and I can tell you that being tardy too many times would get you fired whether you had been there a month or for 30 years. WalMart's policy seems more than fair to me. Have never had a job where you got to pick when you came to work or when you left.

Basically, I'm saying Wal-Mart's policy sounds normal. It is normal. It's just that unions have about destroyed every other industry in America that they are now hard at work on the retail sector.
And, please. All you union lackeys don't start telling me about uninspiring management, blah, blah. This WakeUpWalMart group of idiots certainly isn't a union of managers looking to screw WalMart.

I believe you. Know several people just like that. They say they want a job but don't want to work or follow instructions. All they want is a paycheck with no work involved.

The new policy reduces the number of unapproved absences allowed to three from the previous four during a rolling six-month period. Employees who have more than three unapproved absences will be disciplined; seven will result in termination, according to the documents. Simley said under the old policy, employees were terminated after six unapproved absences.
Try 3 out-of-the-blue absences from morning formation in the Army in a 6 month period, and you'll be facing the steel toe end of someone's boot.

I've often wondered the same thing. WalMart Derangement Syndrome appears to be a variant of Bush Derangement Syndrome, and it appears to affect the same people.
No logic, no thought, just blind hatred.
To: Mr. Brightside
And being 10 minutes or more tardy for work three times will earn you a demerit. Too many of those could get you fired. Boy that is tough.
In my Union factory on the other hand....
If you are one minute late you get a point.
If you get six points in a six month period you are placed on probation.
At 12 you are suspended for three days.
At 18 you are fired.
