Kerry's Military Slap Recalls Vietnam(Never Forget!)
NewsMax.com ^ | Nov. 1, 2006 | staff

Posted on 11/02/2006 6:12:12 AM PST by kellynla

Sen. John Kerry responded to criticism of his remarks suggesting U.S. troops in Iraq are uneducated and not "smart” by asserting that he would never attack American servicemen.

Perhaps Kerry has forgotten statements he made as a spokesperson for Vietnam Veterans Against the War more than three decades ago.

Kerry touched off a storm of protest when he told a college audience on Monday that "if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

He tried to deflect outraged calls for an apology to U.S. troops on Tuesday by maintaining that his comments were a "botched joke,” adding: "If anybody thinks that a veteran would somehow criticize more than 140,000 troops serving in Iraq and not the president and his people who put them there, they’re crazy.”

He said later: "And for them to suggest that somebody who served their country, as I did, and has a record like I have in the United States Congress of standing up and fighting for the troops would ever, ever insult the troops is an insult in and of itself.”

But in testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971, Kerry referred to soldiers in Vietnam who "told stories that at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war.”

Some have sought to defend Kerry by asserting that he was merely quoting reports from other soldiers, but it was Kerry himself who introduced those reports before the Committee.

And Kerry was not quoting other GIs when he testified: "We saw Vietnam ravaged equally by American bombs as well as by search and destroy missions, as well as by Vietcong terrorism, and yet we listened while this country tried to blame all of the havoc on the Vietcong . . .

"We learned the meaning of free fire zones, shooting anything that moves, and we watched while America placed a cheapness on the lives of Orientals.”

He also alleged that "the torture of prisoners” was "accepted policy by many units in South Vietnam.”

In talking to liberals I see that they've adopted the strategy of calling anyone who "didn't get the joke, stupid." I guess they don't see the irony in that.

The people of Mass. and Illinois should be very ashamed of john kerry and dick durbin. These two (kerry and durbin) are nothing more than traitors giving 'aid and comfort' to the enemy while our young men and young women go out to meet the enemy on the field of battle. America's young men and young women serving this nation on that field of battle are the best and brightest amongst us. America's young men and young women are not Nazis. Yet these two senators (from Mass. and Illinois) believe these lies about our young men and young women serving in our nation's military, and spread these lies giving the enemy a speech platform from the halls of this nation's Congress. I can't imagine what better propaganda for the enemy than to have two US Senators to state and believe the lies of this nation's enemy. These senators deserve to be turned out by their fellow senators. Freedom of speech does not include 'aid and comfort' to the enemy.

Since the TV and Cable newsrooms refuse to expose this traitor I will.
Odd how the internet and talk radio know he's a traitor
BUT the TV and Cable newsrooms won't "question his patriotism".

Only idiots would vote for a traitor.

My favorite post for DUmmies and trolls.

"I’m an internationalist. I’d like to see our troops dispersed through [sic] the world
only at the directive of the United Nations."
Hanoi John Kerry, The Harvard Crimson, 1970

HANOI KERRY
has a Campaign Platform
Just like the old days!

"It is a fact that in the entire Vietnam War we did not lose one major battle.
We lost the war at home and at home John Kerry was the field general"

- Bob Elder, Swift Boat Veteran For Truth

"I do not believe John Kerry is fit to be commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces,"
said retired Rear Adm. Roy Hoffmann, chairman of the organization.
"This is not a political issue. It is a matter of honesty."

I was there the same time Hanoi Kerry was.
I served on the destroyer USS Corry DD-817 which supplied PCF's and PBR's
and gave gunfire support in North AND South Viet Nam.
My ship may have even supplied Hanoi Kerry's boat.
I VOW I will do everything I LEGALLY can
to keep this traitor from being elected.
68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub

The book that Kerry
wishes would just go away.
HanoiJohnKerry.com is a blog with a primary purpose. That purpose is to counter the preposterous claims of Sen. John Forbes Kerry (D-MA) that he has any legitimate claim to any sort of "brotherhood" among combat veterans of the War in Vietnam.

While it is generally supposed that his service as a Naval officer on a "Swift Boat" in that theater was adequate and honorable, there is much to question regarding his readiness to allow the accolade "war hero" to be applied to him.

Likewise, it is not at all uncommon for more senior Naval officers to raise an eyebrow at the swiftness and relative comfort by which Lt. JG Kerry attained those medals, and who is available to vouch for the efficacy of his being awarded them (since, as boat commander, it would be his own task to make recommendation for awards for all personnel, including himself, on the Swift Boat).

But most egregious was his conduct, words and associations upon his early-out (from SEA) return to the USA and discharge from the US Navy. His leadership role with the radical pro-Communist (inaccurate to deem this group "anti-war") group called "Vietnam Veterans Against the [Vietnam] War" (hereafter VVAW).

It was while climbing the social and political ladder of the pro-Soviet Left as a principle of VVAW that John Kerry found his political soul-mate in Hanoi Jane Fonda. Granted, these politically formative years for Kerry were prior to the more outlandish acts of Fonda that earned her that name, but it is easily documentable that Fonda did not under go any radical transformation in belief or character from the time she and Kerry were working the same side of the street to the time she traveled to Hanoi, NVN and entered US history as the most overt traitor to ever NOT be charged, tried and executed.

John Kerry went to his own overt extremes to demonstrate that, politically, socially and in lowness of character, there wasn't a nickel's worth of difference between he and Fonda. Thus, in the spirit of fairness and accuracy, we are reasonably certain that he will be agreeably flattered by calling him Hanoi John Kerry.

Here, testifying before the Fulbright Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is where John Kerry, spokesman for Vietnam Veterans Against the War, cemented his position and moniker as "Hanoi John" Kerry. This was the occasion where US troops still in the field in Vietnam learned from one of their FORMER brothers-in-arms that they were heinous murderers and war criminals. HJK would now like to call on them for support in his bid to be the new Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. Perhaps the most preposterous hypocrisy of all.

When KERRY, KENNEDY, CLINTON, CRONKITE, RODHAM, FONDA, HAYDEN, JACKSON fooled us, (Through TV) into abandoning Vietnam behind to their fate at the hands of GOD-less Communists ..millions lost their lives in S.E. Asia.

In a recent 'Meet the Press' TV Interview longtime KERRY friend KENNEDY lyingly told America that only 100,000 S.E. Asians lost their lives after the Fall of Saigon ...as in it was no big deal..!! This as both are trying to do that same thing now to the people of the Middle East.

Kerry should have been tried for treason with Ted Kennedy, Fonda, Chronkite and other Nam traitors. When they were found guilty, they should have been hung in the Capitol Rotunda and left there to warn other would be traitors.

What the US Army recruiting poster under "President" Kerry would look like:

Our brave warriors n Irak respond to Jon Carry"

Kerry is no different re his hatred of a strong America and our warriors than 99.9% of the rats in congress. Every rat running for election should have to face a copy of this banner everytime they show their treasonous faces. Pelosi, Murtha, Clintoon, Boxer, Kennedy, Durbin, Levin, Rangle, Reid and other rats in congress hate our military and a strong America. Just look at their voting records the past two years as President Bush pointed out this week.

Kerry is shown leading his fellow hate America and our military Rats to their final destination in American Politics:

Vote against all traitors this election day. Support our troops and their CIC, President Bush.

Vote against all traitors this election day.

Absolutely, if Americans restore Congress to the Democarats next week, the first thing they'll do is to try to cut off funding for food & water supplies to our troops in Iraq. President Bush will be able to stop their efforts for awhile, but how long before they'd be able to stop all funding for the Executive Branch to keep those funds from being 'wasted' (as they see it) on support for our troops in Iraq & Afghanistan when those same monies could be funneled into their own estate plans!

You are exactly right about what the rats will do to our military if Pelosi is in charge.

I got an email from a conservative lawyer, and he sees a $**tstorm of court martial attempts and court martials of our warriors and their commanders from the rat JagOff lawyers in the Pentagon if the rats seize power. He said that will destroy all morale in the military if that happens.

John Kerry’s statement that only losers join the military aligns precisely with his uncorroborated testimony before Congress about how I, and others of TF116, committed unspeakable atrocities against the South Vietnamese. In my little corner of the war our boats and ships were ordered not to return fire from the village of Nam Can as they transited to and from Seafloat. We were expected to gut it out through the kill zone, because the village was designated by us as a sanctuary from the war for civilians.

Now he regards my son who joined the Marine Corps infantry out of high school as intellectually failed, and never considers the possibility that he may have deferred college to serve his nation. My son had the aptitude scores and security clearance to serve a tour with Marine Presidential Security Forces, before joining Third Battalion Fourth Marines security.

Life has come full circle.

He tried to deflect outraged calls for an apology to U.S. troops on Tuesday by maintaining that his comments were a "botched joke,”...

John Fund made an excellent point on a Bay Area talk show this morning.

John Kerry doesn't tell jokes. At all.

He's so consistently grim and morose that humor is not part of his personality.

And coming to think of it, I don't remember Kerry telling a joke of any sort during the '04 elections.

Not in speeches, interviews. Nowhere was he anything but morose, gloomy, and grim as an undertaker.

Botched joke?

Nah, just another of a string of lies that none of us am smarrte enuf to c throo.

(Note to the troops who sent THE picture from Irak. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery).

FROM A WHILE BACK

The Editor The Wall Street journal

Dear Sir/Madame:

As a graduate of the Yale class of 1966, I resent the self-serving lies and misrepresentations advanced by my classmate John Kerry. Herewith, a few corrections:

John Kerry has been using the Pershing name to dramatize his Vietnam experience, claiming to have been a close friend of Richard Pershing, the grandson of General (Black Jack) Pershing. Richard Pershing was a member of the Yale class of 1966, and he was killed in Vietnam shortly after we graduated. However, Kerry’s constant references to his ‘dearest’ friend are exaggerated and exploitative. In fact, Dick Pershing and I roomed together for all 4 years at Yale. I don’t remember John Kerry ever being in our room or even being a particular favorite of Dick’s.

In this regard, it is particularly revealing that a recent biography of General Pershing, Until The Last Trumpet Sounds (by Gene Smith), includes an entire chapter on Dick, primarily on his years at Yale; the name John Kerry does not appear. The Pershing Family did know Kerry, but they disliked him intensely. This antipathy stemmed primarily from an incident at the Pershing home on Park Avenue not long after Dick’s death: at a gathering of friends and family, Kerry worked the room with his anti-Vietnam message, incurring the undying enmity of Mr. and Mrs. Pershing and Dick’s older brother Jack, a Green Beret. The family was shocked and insulted by Kerry’s insensitivity. Kerry has implied – as recently as the first Presidential debate – that he became disillusioned about Vietnam by his military experience.

However, as early as 1965, in his Junior year at Yale, he was giving anti-war speeches; and his Class Day Oration in 1966 – prior to graduation – criticized American involvement in Vietnam. These sentiments clearly antedated his Vietnam experience. So why did he join the Navy? He told some classmates that it would help his career. The above pattern suggests a callous and opportunistic personality – hardly what I would call Presidential.
