Maybe he should have gone to the debate after all.
Instead of joining his two main opponents for the U.S. Senate - Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Alan Schlesinger - at Quinnipiac University, Joe Lieberman opted for a relaxing night of campaigning, beer in hand, at Mayor Mike's in downtown Hartford.
It was a short stop.
It was also not very relaxing.
Lieberman lasted maybe 15 minutes before he was heckled from the restaurant by young Lyndon LaRouche supporters, who kept popping up along the bar like gophers coming out of their holes.

Lyndon LaRouche supporters? LOL!
I liked that bit at the end about Mayor Mike Peters perched on a bar stool at the end of the bar.
Wow, ol' Lyndon must be rilly, rilly PO'ed, to have flown all five of his supporters up from northern Virginia.
Was Joe's stop at the bar advertised? Its pretty sure someone knew he would be there and tipped off the Larouche supporters.
One thing is sure it really dosnt matter whether Joe is elected or not to Republicans. Because old Joe is not going to vote with Republicans.
There's an insanity defense.
Shouldn't that be Whack-a-Troll? That'd be a great photoshop opportunity...
CT ping! I've seen these LaRoach supporters at UCONN - what a bunch of whackbags!
No, but he won't be voting for the AlQuaeda either.
I wouldn't be too sure about Joe's
allegiance to the Democratic Party
in the future. Decades ago, I too
was a staunch Democrat. But every
Old Timer who keeps abreast of the
"Lay of the Land" KNOWS today's
Democratic Party is NOT the same
party it was 30 years ago. Then,
it was much more Conservative in
its philosophy...none of this crap
about Individual Rights superceding
the welfare of the majority, or
Freedom of Choice regarding Abortion.
But especially Democrat leaders, as
now, using the media to brain wash so
many citizens into the Anti Commander-
in-Chief while at war. The old DNC
would NEVER have been so lacking in
patriotism.
You got that right. I've never seen anyone so all over the map as LaRouche...
I'd have bought a round for the LaRouchers and myself, raised my glass, and said, "Join me in a toast, ladies and gentlemen...The Queen."
Connecticut ping!
Excerpt:
The LaRouche youth, as they called themselves, came to Connecticut from around the country specifically to heckle Lieberman because, they said, Buckley supported Lieberman when he unseated Republican U.S. Sen. Lowell Weicker in 1988. LaRouche, an American political activist since the late 1940s, is perhaps best known for being a perennial presidential candidate.
Geesh... more liberal trust fund kids with way too much time on their hands...
