I can't believe I'm the first to point out the contradiction: the dems don't want voting to be easy for military personnel, yet fight tooth and nail to prevent requiring picture ids so that illegals can't vote!

"I don't see why we can't do overseas voting the same way we always had, with a paper slip and a sealed envelope"

Samples of military ballots consistently show a margin of three-to-one favoring the Republican candidate. In the last Presidential election, 81% of military ballots were cast for President Bush and 16% for Kerry.

The Democrats are well aware of the likely contents of these military ballots.

I would not want military ballots, contained in readily identifiable envelopes, to pass through the U.S. Postal Service and run the risk of falling into the hands of DemocRAT moles where they will be "lost". I much prefer an electronic system managed by military personnel, even if the system security is not yet perfect.

You're not, but even if you are, the more amazing fact is that the Republican National Committee doesn't runs advertisements all over the country putting this fact in front of the voters. There probably close to 100 million potential voters who either were in the military themselves, married to someone in the military, or the child or sibling of someone in the military. I think that an ad campaign of this sort could cost the Dems at least 1 million votes nationwide, possibly 5 million, either of which is enough to win a lot of races. Once again, the Republicans prove themselves to be The Stupid Party - the Demonrats would NEVER let this go if the facts were reversed (of course, if the facts were reversed then they wouldn't be demonic rats, but y'all catch my drift).

KARL ROVE, where are you????

why didn't the military set up a more secure system? Banks and credit cards have much better security than our e-voting systems, both domestic and foreign

The Governor of MD (R) is asking people to vote via absentee ballot this year because of all the problems with MD's voting machines

Marxists will do anything to further their goals. They have no principles other than winning by any means necessary.
They don't care what we think.

"why didn't the military set up a more secure system?"

Take a look at this related article posted on Free Republic and also Post #42 in the associated thread discussing the same story about the Dem Congressman's objections to the military voting system.

I don't have any personal experience with the military voting system, but I found the information of value. It gave me a greater degree of confidence that the voting system security is better than paper ballots sent through the U.S. Postal Service. I know if I were a deployed soldier, I wouldn't hesitate to use it if the alternative was to mail my paper ballot half way around the world.

Excellent remark Eagle USA. Joe Stalin said, "It's not who votes, it's who counts the votes." The Democrat/Socialists of America will try again.
