A Saudi court has sentenced a gang rape victim to 90 lashes of the whip because she was alone in a car with a man to whom she was not married.

hmm, you would think that if they cut off your hand for stealing it would be consistent with their logic to cut something else off for rape.

You must not have read the full article, the assailants received jail time and up to 1000 lashes. I'm assuming that it would be given in installments, I don't see how you could survive that kind of a beating.
So, women who are raped not only had it coming, but afterwards they receive further abuse at the hands of a male-dominated, theocratic, misogynistic (NOW, you can step in any time here) "religion."

The woman is being punished (90 lashes) because she was alone in the car with a male who was not a relative.
The married man who was alone in the car with her (for reasons that are not explained but are probably not relevant) is being punished (90 lashes) for being alone with her.
The others (4 convicted rapists, 2 still at large, and the cell phone videographer) are under charges (and punishment when convicted) for their kidnapping and her gang rape.
The family is appealing because the traditional Muslim punishment for proven rape is death.

What is most amusing and telling is the deafening silence of the world's feminist rights activists about Muslim "justice."
Whereas, if a judge in the U.S. made the faux paux of calling a woman attorney "missy" or some such, it would be front page news with feminists calling for a resignation.
