With Election Day approaching, a controversy has arisen involving one of the candidates in the 29th Congressional District.

Democrat Eric Massa and his ex-campaign manager Sanford Dickert are fighting over Dickert’s firing.

Massa said he let Dickert go because of poor conduct, saying the aide lured underage students to an apartment for drinking. Dickert denied the allegations and said the charges are Massa's attempt to avoid paying him $39,000 in salary plus a $50,000 bonus if Massa wins the election.

Massa is facing Republican incumbent Randy Kuhl.

Dickert was hired in April and fired in June. He said he is suing Massa for libel.

Scandal in race for NY 29th: a seat the Dems have wanted very badly since Amo Houghton retired in 2004. But they had a similar problem: That year the Dem's campaign manager obtained and leaked to the media the divorce records of Randy Kuhl (R). The D candidate, Samara Barend (a Hillary protege) also fired her manager just before the 04 election.
