Huh?
"thats ridiculous. HE looks nothign like bin laden. Media spin? He looks like a hippy to me"
If your employer or your main source of income requires you to shave, then you either shave or seek new employment. If you are a hippie and can grow your beard to your waist because you don't have to answer to the public or anyone but yourself, or you don't business with other businesses that may object, then go for it. Otherwise, consider your livlihood first and your beard second.
Is it wrong? Perhaps. Is it the way it is in many businessess, you better believe it is.
Maybe it's not that he looks like Osama, it's that his beard is so skuzzy looking, it turns off folks from purchasing groceries at Walmart when they see him putting the chips on the racks in the aisle.
"I think it boils down to the cheap stuff from Communist China. "
Is anything not made in China? Even complete modular homes are now made in China. About the only thing left are cars and they are coming soon.
My husband had worn a beard for years and he went to work for a pipe supply company that delivered pipe to paper mills. The first day he drove up to the paper mill they refused to allow him to enter to deliver the pipe because they had a policy that no one in the mill could have a beard. He was just supposed to drive in the gate and stand there while the mill employees unloaded the pipe, but whatever, it was the rule and the rule had to be enforced.
My husband had mouths to feed and babies to buy shoes for, so idiotic rule or not, he went across the street to the barber shop and shaved off the beard, then was allowed in to deliver the pipe.
That is really stupid. Other than the beard he looks nothing like Osama.
I have a short beard myself, but if I had to lose it in order to continue to providing for my family, it would be gone in a heartbeat. Kudos to your husband for choosing family and livlihood first. It's just the way it is in many businesses, rightly or wrongly.
The character in this article is apparently choosing his beard ahead of his family. And now he wants compensation for business lost because of his beard.
"Personally, I am hoping that beards become looked down upon and spurned in society. (And I have had one any times, by the way)
We need to begin to ostracize appearances of Islam. That means the veil, burkas, beards, turbans... ANYTHING that even remotely looks Muslim should be made a thing to be looked down upon.
We need to continue to make Islam anathema."
Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's change our society, our lifestyle as a response to islam.
Is your name Abdul?
Is yours moron?
