Justice for the Iraqi people was finally served today with the conviction of Saddam Hussein. This dictator ruled by fear, torturing and murdering his own people to satisfy his malicious interests. Its commendable and important that he was brought to justice in the country where he committed these atrocities against humanity. Hmmm... and just how do you suppose this was acheived Howard? Your statement is actually a ringing an endorsement of Bush's policies, whether you have eyes to see it or not.

What a pusillanimous bastard. He hasn't the character to offer his real sentiments, like John Kerry did the other day.

The GOP should jump on this and publish it as a Bush endorsement by the leader of the DNC...because he just really stepped in his own stool.

They will do and say anything to get maximum advantage out of anything, even if it means lying about what they believe.

"Iraq is in the middle of a civil war "
Funny, the pictures I saw this morning showed Iraq in the middle of a celebration.

I think part of the quote was omitted. Should read:
Our troops - while they may be mouthbreathing dolts who rape and murder innocent Iraqis - should be commended for providing the security needed to conduct this trial in Iraq and for their ongoing efforts to put an end to the violence and protect the Iraqi people.

Iraq is in the middle of a civil war and growing sectarian violence will be an even greater concern following this verdict.

...yah, and Dean seems to have left out a couple more points from the DUmocrat mantra:
"We don't belong over there,"
and
"Iraqis aren't interested in freedom" (regardless of the 70% voter turn out nation-wide).
What a putz.

Howard Dean, from
this link, May 22, 2005. From that link:
We have an obligation as the last superpower to fix this. Instead the president said, "Saddam Hussein is a threat to the United States," and that was just flat-out false. And I don't think that's the way you run a government.
And if the Democrats had been running things the last few years, Howie, Saddamn would still be there.

Seems to me he is attempting to appeal to the moderate Democrat that knows we are there for the purpose of defending innocents while showing them a better way of life. Problem with moderates leaning towards liberalism is that the truth becomes more obscure. Positive side of moderates leaning towards conservatism is the truth becomes more revealed. 2 + 2 is not what you want it to be, it is what it is. Murder is murder. Killing someone while defending yourself or another is NOT murder. TRUTH IS NOT RELATIVE.
