Contrary to what many pundits would have you believe, this election is not about side shows like the meaning of Macaca or Senator John Kerry’s assessment of American soldiers’ I.Q. Instead, voters face choices about the most fundamental issue: our national security and whether we can foil a devastating attack that could kill millions of Americans and wipe out our economy.
In talking about the war on terror, the Democrats have focused on how to beef up port security and why Osama bin Laden wasn’t captured years ago at Tora Bora. But the key to stopping an attack is uncovering a plot before a nuclear device has been slipped on board a ship. Nor is bin Laden relevant to the war on terror. He has been neutralized, unable to communicate to his underlings because of fear of being killed.
The Republican administration understands that what is necessary to stop the next attack is a fragment of information that might lead to uncovering a plot. Obtaining that clue requires giving the FBI and CIA the necessary tools and funds to penetrate terrorist cells and make use of intercepted phone calls and emails.

They would gut the USA Patriot Act.
They would stop interception of calls from al-Qaida to and from the U.S.
They would end tracking of terrorists' financial transfers.
They would bestow legal rights on al-Qaida terrorists who are being interrogated about planned plots, rights similar to those enjoyed by American citizens.
Finally, they would cut off funds to support the war effort in Iraq, handing al-Qaida a win in what the terrorists themselves have described as a crucial battleground in their effort to defeat America and impose their vision of radical Islam on the world.
If the Dems win this time and in 2008 I can't help but think that we are literally on the eve of destruction. Iran and al Qaeda want to destroy us and eventually they will get WMDs into the country. With Dems and Feminists in charge of our protection, we are toast.
Once some of our cities are wiped out, maybe there will be a change of heart, but that would be too late. Our economy would be destroyed and the nation would face a real depression with starvation and death of perhaps millions.
I wonder if it might be possible to escape to Sitka Alaska? That is still in the US, has a reasonably warm climate for being so far north and should be out of reach of fallout winds. “http://www.sitka.com/_images/big-map.jpg”

How about putting fear aside and choosing action that is right for our country's best interests?
Let's replace fear with faith in our fellow Americans regardless of party affiliation to do and make right decisions that will continue and further the wonderful traditions and heritage we all are blessed with.
Lets put threats and petty politics behind us and maintain and further our freedom and the future of our great nation.
Excellent idea. But, how are you going to stop the Democrats politicization of the war?
An excellent example is that in speaking in favor of the sentencing of Saddam today, each Democrat has included a slam against Bush. Each says something to the effect that the sentence doesn't change anything on the ground in Iraq.
What is ironic is that each has said that capturing Bin Laden will change everything.
More leftwing double standards wanting it both ways.

My senitments exactly!!! I can survive high gas prices, even high taxes, and all the other nonsense, a WMD, no! Suicide Bombings in malls, no. How in the world can someone see and hear the dems whinning about Gitmo, terrorists rights, the Patriot Act and the constant disrespect for out military think that they will protect us from the evil that is lurking, just waiting for the opportunity to strike us. My gosh, don't these people think about their children and grand kids?
