'DIRTY TRICKS' IN JERSEY?
MSNBC ^ | 11/07/06 | Ron Allen

Posted on 11/07/2006 11:23:14 AM PST by conservative in nyc

In New Jersey's senatorial campaign, Republican candidate Tom Kean Jr.'s aides are charging that opponents "already have resorted to Election Day dirty tricks."

Last night, vandals chained shut the Kean campaign's headquarters in Mountainside, N.J., and broke keys off in the door locks to prevent entry, according to aides. "It's Jersey ... this is not surprising," Kean spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker told us. "It's the Menendez campaign, or their supporters," she added, but without offering evidence.

"It's just a lot of noise," was the response from campaign aides for Democratic incumbent Bob Menendez. They say they have "thousands" of lawyers at polling places across the site, especially where they expect problems - such as Essex and Hudson County, two big urban Democratic areas.

Menendez's folks are checking out a report of electronic voting problems in Essex County, where voting machines are reportedly defaulting to certain candidates rather than voters' choices.

if we had a more aggressive DOJ, that would have been the only hope. Toricelli could have been indicted, Menendez too - but no, they went after Weldon instead.

"Last night, vandals chained shut the Kean campaign's headquarters in Mountainside, N.J., and broke keys off in the door locks to prevent entry."

Some may shrug it off and say "It's New Jersey -- what do you expect."

I say -- what goes around comes around.

Makes me sick that the powers that be look the other way at the corruption here. The federal monitor looking over the UMDNJ fraud has on subpoena power and told people to quit.

They needed to be frog marched out of the building in orange jumpsuits, IMO

"Why does anyone want to live in New Jersey?"

Why does someone always clog up a NJ thread with an inane and ignorant question ?

There was a Kean staffer inside. He noticed the chains on the door at 4:45 am, and called police because he was locked inside.

If there was a fire, he would have been in a life threatening situation.

When another company came to their doors in the same building and noticed the keys broken off in the doors, THEY called the police.

Then the police came out and cut the chains.

3 hours later!

That's NJ for you!

We get paid the big bucks and still get to live in the country. I live on a mountain where it's "God, country and family" and only drive a half hour to my job. My grass is just as green and my trees are just as big as my Dad's property in Virginia. I make a ton more here than I could in Va.

...and the pizza

Sorry if you were offended. It was a goodnatured teasing by a Pennsylvania neighbor.

I have many wonderful friends and relatives in New Jersey. They stay there because of the many things mentioned here: proximity to NYC; good tomatoes; superior pizza, and the best bagels outside of Brooklyn. Oh, yes--and the shore. But don't go in the water! ;)

No need, my wife simply refused the suggested (clearing throat) choice of Menendez and did not vote that way.

4. Move.

Unfortunately they mostly move to PA and bring their voting habits (among other things) with them.

Every election some Dem conducts a drive-by shooting of an RNC headquarters. Get out the word to our people to stay vigilant and stay safe. The Dem SS is on the prowl tonight.

Maybe we could make a trade with Canada.

New Jersey is much like Ontario, and would fit in well, while Alberta is much like Montana, so let's trade and make everyone happy.
