As expected, Morris will tell us why he ALWAYS knew the GOP would lose, blah, blah, blah... Wonder if he's contacted the Gore 2008 campaign yet?

Regardless of what we think of Morris, if the Senate falls, he will have been 100% correct in his prediction.

It sounds like accurate analysis to me.
We lost, we lost badly, perhaps our critics are correct.

America is delivering a message that if we keep shedding blood to battle for democracy in Iraq,
__________________________________________________________
We want the blood to be shed here in the USA instead. That is the message they just sent. Good luck with that. I just hope if they target anywhere, the rag heads target Washington first, while in session, filled with reporters.

Instead, they squandered their lead through an orgy of self-indulgence and narcissism. The lobbyist travel scandals, the Foley affair and earmarking of funds for every last piece of pork in their districts cost the Republicans their virtue and their House majority. Can't argue there. From Jack Abramoff, Duke Cunningham, and Tom Delay, to Mark Foley. I mean how much do you really expect the American people to take? And were supposed to be a party with integrity?

Morris right on almost every point. However, he fails to identify the culprit in one of his main points: the MSM, and how their slanted Iraq coverage affected people's perception of the war. That, and the fact that the republicants were too gutless to get the real word out.

It was pandering that did in the Republicans, just as it has done in the Democrats before, and will again in the future. Republicans thought a cut-and_run apperance would run against them with their base.

"They see a mess in Iraq and aren't prepared to put up with it any longer."
What they see is what the media spoon feeds them. They don't get the whole picture.
Anyway, guess when Al Qaeda takes over Iraq and has access to billions in oil revenues each year, Americans will again feel contented.

Dick F-ce Morris needs to learn that we DO NOT live in a Mob Rule Government! Just because the mob wants something, does not mean the elected jump to every whim of the electorate!
We elect Representatives in a Representative Government!
Get a clue Morris!

His predictions are usually wrong.
But his analysis here is correct.
Most conservatives would like to believe that this is a truly conservative country and ONLY reason conservatives lost is because they stayed home as their leaders are not acting conservative.
Thats a fantasy.

Sorry, but the toe-sucker is right. Washington DC turns even the most idealistic politician into a cynical opportunist over time.

This is what I believe. Everyone defines the results according to their own interpretation of everything else. We all define everything in a way that proves we were RIGHT after all. LOL! Human nature.
Now I will take a stab at it and everyone can be suspect of my conclusion. LOL!
I think it means way less about anything specific and way more about 1)human nature and 2)we are an extremely divided nation ideologically speaking and the rope simply gets pulled to and fro by the people who vote for dumb or self-centered reasons. What will this one give me? Or, who looks better on television? Or, whose ads do I like better? Or, who bugs me less in all the superficial ways a tv generation evaluates things.

At 9:30 pm Pacific Standard Time last night on KRLA Los Angeles Radio...
...former California Gov. PETE WILSON predicted, with only 3 U.S. Senate Races left to be decided, that the U.S. Senate would go Democrat as well.
He even started using the term:
"..with a Democrat Congress.."
WILSON's reasoning was that in all 3 close State Races, it was Democrat-leaning or controlled areas left to be counted.
Standby.

Morris was right. Republicans failed their conservative principals and failed to communicate the facts and stand on principal. Instead they allowed the DemoncRATs and media to define the issues and, ableit largely based on lies, were unwilling to correct the impression.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
The Republican Party has no one to blame but themselves. Lack of Leadership, lack of focus, no Agenda, no Legislation. They have turned a blind eye to important issues facing the country as well as their constituency.
For every salvo sent by the Democrats, the Republicans ran and hide, for every allegation, the Republican leadership refused to answer.
No Leadership, no plan, no wonder the Party did not face greater losses. They have only to look at themselves.
