That's exactly what I was thinking. When I heard he had an early lunch with Pelosi, and then Rumsfeld gone - I thought he traded him off for a few things, like Bolton.

Soooooo...HE is to blame as well....and he has had it in for Bush since he lost his job as Majority Leader...

Bush pushed out Lott. Lott engineered the loss of the Senate through the gang of 14 and other things. Payback is a Hillary!

I think we should all contact our Congresscritters, the ones that have GOP ones...and DEMAND that they start playing hardball.

The DEMS played hardball the WHOLE time there were in the minority...and Bush's agenda was thwarted all of the time.

Of course that is because the dems stuck together, we had a Senate full of RINOS....but, still, tell them that if they don't want to be voted out...and STAY the minority after 2008...they better get some backbone!

They HAVE to do it now....Bolton's recess appointment expires the 1st of Jan.

Plus...they won't have the "majority" (such that it is) after Jan. 1st.

It's the Democrats that storm out of meeting calling the other parties Nazi's when they lose. Republicans proved they were the adults by not whining about stolen elections and crying for the cameras.

Keep showing the American public who the adults are. Let the Democrats spew their bile. We've been out of power before, we can handle it. We don't have to like it, by we can still have class.

He has shown to be not only competent but a very valuable assest to this country. If they won't approve, Bush better have the huevos to do another recess appointment of him. That will send a message just as Reagan did when he fired the air traffic controllers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the real Dem strategy is this: Dems will pretend to advance changes...but will actually do nothing. The MSM will begin to say the economy is looking good and Iraq is getting better...thanks to Dems. In other words, the only thing that changes will be MSM coverage.

Woudn't it be nice if Bush put on a display of the "Power of the Presidency?"

"Oversight" doesn't mean "Obstruct."

I like what someone else on another thread said if Bolton gets the boot, Bush should leave the position vacant.

President Bush is a great negotiator then. I have read numerous times today that Rummy was leaving no matter what the election outcome. It has been surmized that if we held Congress he still would have left by the end of the year.

If Rummy was going anyway, we just got Bolton for free.

I wonder what other niceties The President and The Speaker discussed over tea and crumpets. Every so often, GWB finds ways to tie the Dems into knots.

Moving to make China's MFN status conditional would have the Nancy Pelosi faction and the Sherrod Brown faction of the Democratic Party at one another's jugulars.
