On another note: Hastings to chair Intelligence? If that convicted felon, impeached judge were not a member of Congress, he would not be able to even read a federal document classified higher than FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY. Giving him full access to the nations secrets? As a convicted felon, he would not be able to obtain a security clearance for even lowly CONFIDENTIAL documents, much less SECRET, TOP SECRET, CRYPTO TOP SECRET, ETC. Pelosi, of all people, should know this, as a former chairman of Intelligence.

Hehe. Well, hope so. I keep likening politics to football. We were on the one yard line, up 20-0. No, we hadn't completely destroyed the Dems, but they were close to breaking. We had the game. Then we threw an INT for a 99-yard return and a TD.

It's that hard to take power from an incumbent, esp. a DEM incumbent, because they are so sleazy and they will stop at nothing to keep power. True, the Republicans squandered an incredible amount of good will and advantages, but beating people like Dorgan and Durbin is going to be VERY difficult in 2008. And no senate, no judges.
