Somebody else said it best in another thread--if Traitor Linc had won the Senate would be 50-49-1, effectively 50-50. And Chafee would promptly have gone Jim Jeffords on us, it would've ended up 49-49-2 just like it is now, and Chafee would jump ship and caucus with the Rats. At least now, Chafee's out of power and heading for the Rat party where he belongs.
Chafee, you backstabbing bastard.

Yeah a Primary Challenger the Party machine destroyed to "save Chafes seat" for us.
Possible the most politically incompetent move I ever saw. Use money and resources to prop up a candidate who never votes with you just cause he was an incumbent.
