Bet it's not. If those are real Blue Dogs who just got elected...shamnesty will be halted FAST.

Actually I'm not optimistic either...I'm just trying to help others get that way. ;)

They should try slapping an oil company tax on the bill or somehow link it to Dubai Ports World; seems to be the only things that'll make the president whip out his veto pen.

If they want their pork and committee seats, they'll get on board.

I think at some point someone will share with the President that he just lost both houses of Congress because he ticked off the Conservatives with this sort of crap. If he wants to kill off the Republican Party then he should keep pushing those amnesty plans...or whatever he wants to call them.

President Bush yesterday said he will team up with Democrats to pass an immigration bill with a guest-worker program that his own party blocked this year, and his Republican opponents predicted a bloody intraparty fight but said they cannot stop such a bill from passing. I hate to sound like a dope, but couldn't they filibuster? (That is, if they wanted to?)

That is so true. Amnesty, the NAU, the NAFTA Superhighway. All that is now possible.

Mr. Cannon said he worries Democrats are trying to use the issue to bait Mr. Tancredo into a third-party candidacy to split Republican votes. Tancredo (God bless him) has always said he's going to run as a Republican if he runs for President. More smoke bellowing from Cannon's kisser.

Well, Madison, I'll see that bet and raise you another that those so called blue dogs will vote in lockstep for amnesty
That will be shoved down our throats so fast you won't believe it.

Democrats are nothing if they aren't poll watchers. Somehow I think the Democrats are going to take one look at the poll numbers, and do something Bush and the Republicans were for some reason unable to do. Make the shrewd political maneuver.

I swear sometimes it seems to me Bush sought the office just to pass an amnesty for illegals. He's finished NOTHING else but has shown a dogged determination to pass this damn legislation.
