Santa Ana -- A woman who pleaded guilty to falsely accusing six men of raping her was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail.
Tamara Anne Moonier, 29, of Dana Point tearfully apologized before being sentenced for felony grand theft, perjury and presenting a false claim to the state. She had received $1,850 from the state as part of a program that helps crime victims.
"I've changed my life," said Moonier, who has been diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder. "I take my medicine. I never believed I had an illness until this happened. I'm very, very sorry."
According to prosecutors, Moonier told police in June 2004 that she had been kidnapped at gunpoint and was taken to an unknown location where she was repeatedly raped by the six men.
Moonier claimed she didn't know her attackers, but was able to identify them through a photo lineup, prosecutors said. One of the accused gave detectives a videotape that showed Moonier consenting to the sex.

If only Nifong was the DA in Southern California.
She should serve the term they would have received.

Multiplied by six.
And she gets one year?
You are so right. Someone mentioned multiplied by six, and that's okay by me. What a total bitch!
Wow.
I'm sick of these criminal types who run to a shrink and phony up some disorder so they can try to get away with their bad acts.
I'm also sick of the shrinks who play this phony game.
Her time recieved is short, and will be served in a women's prison.
Out of those six men, very little of a real life would be left to any of them after serving 5 to 15 years each in a male prison.
Maybe the illness is called alcoholism?
I saw this on the local news. Apparently the video taken during the claimed "rape" showed that she was actually directing the 6 men to perform various sexual acts on her. She's a sick woman like so many that I've dated here in SoCal.
It's why I ALWAYS video when i have sex so the gals can't accuse me of rape! /s
These "gentlemen" were hardly innocent bystanders. They took advantage of a willing Ho.
Yes, and be put on the sex offender list for the rest of her life.
Good point - "false Claim."
It makes no more sense for that to mitigate her sentence than it would in the case of actual rapists. No doubt a lot of them would be diagnosed with the same disorders.
Mooniest.
I didn't call them gentleman and I didn't call them "innocent bystanders".
They were innocent victims of a despicable crime, and the criminal only got a slap on the hand.
"Sorry" doesn't cut it..
