I already wrote to McLame and told him that nor only do I not support him but would work for his opponent. Would I vote for him if he won the primary? Probably not.

McCain would make a fine president. I supported him in 2000 (until he dropped out, when I switched to Bush) and would be delighted to support him in 2008.

I sure hope there's a good third party candidate to vote for...

Ross Perot gave us eight years of clintonism. Voting third party in '08 could give the country eight more. The Presidency is not an entry level job.

Ma Bell seems to be conflicted. He says on another thread, "Let it be known the troops nearly to a man say we shouldn't be here [in Iraq], but you talk to them and they say we should be here."

Is this an attempt to say they're similarly bright to Jon Cary? That is, they volunteered, but now (on their second or third deployment) they're against?

OTOH, as of this past Wednesday, one hears that re-ups are near zero.

McCain is a media darling, with the MSM in your corner anything is possible.

I loathe McCain and would never -ever vote for him.

"NO WAY I would vote for McCain in the Republican Presidential Primary"

O.K. then, would you vote for him in a Presidential Election?

I knew McCain was going to run in 2008 when he backed Bush in 2004. I predict it's McCain and Guiliani as the front runners and everyone else a distant second, they might even team up like Reagan and Bush in 1980. The question will be, who's the President and who is the VP?

Well, I personally think that McCain should consider his age, health, family, the party, the revulsion with which a large number of his fellow party members and the conservative core have for him and then learn fly fishing. Or painting with water colors. Or scrapbooking. Or drinking.
Or just getting the hell out of the serious business of politics; which by the by, he has buggered up from his excellent with the "Keating Five" to the "Gang of 14".

I cannot concieve of a nasty enough circumstance wherein I would EVER cast a vote for McCain. Regardless of the entrant of the other party. I would write by cat's name in first.

Show me a Conservative who can win the nomination and I will vote for him.

For lack of that candidate, it is either Guiliani or McCain. You want dog food, cat food or Hillary?

The Main Stream Media is setting us up with McCean. Completely postitive coverage before he is nominated, then an unrelenting series of hit pieces after the Conventions.

McCain reminds me of Bob Dole, same loser mentality. And he is way too old.

Romney/Giuliani

I have a lot of Independent and Democrate friends, and they all would cross over to vote for Giuliani.

That would be a slam dunk. I think he is quite a bit more articulate than either McCean or GWB.

In what way?

If he can get elected in Massachusetts he can win anywhere.

"He's got my vote. I don't want Frist nor the others unless its Condi or General Powell."

McStain? Powell???
You are obviously a RINO, yourself.

This is a time when I am glad that I am not back in the USA.
It is looking more and more likely that I will have little desire to return.

"McCain, the Republican maverick"

Should read, "McCain, the lunatic, egocentric erstwhile Republican in name only."

.

2ndDivisionVet,

I don't want him. What are your thoughts?

I'll never vote for John "The Traitor" McCain ... period.

In my opinion, his 2008 Presiential Bid is merely a "jobs program" for RINO staffers and wanna-bes in the Washington Beltway ...

I can't wait to see the "surprised" (naive) look on McCain's faces, when, upon winning the GOP Nomination, the MSM Propaganda Machine turns on him like Hitler did to Stalin ...

Good night, John McCain ...
