No thanks Rudy -- we need a CONSERVATIVE in the White House. You're right, but if it comes down to either him or McCain, Rudy had my support.

The one thing that both Rudy and Newt can do is TALK. So many of the conservative "leaders" can't seem to get their words out or explain their ideas in a few sentences or get to the point.
With either Newt or Rudy running we would at least get the issues presented, discussed and defended something that has not been happening lately.

Rudy would have absolutely DESTROYED Hitlery in that election if he didn't get cancer.

Rudy would have eviscerated Hillary in those debates that Lazio butchered. Rudy had cancer treatments to undergo ... sheesh. I think he dropped out because he was afraid that he was going to lose to Hitlery. He jumped ship and let Lazio take the pipe. He walked away clean.
Just my opinion as a longsuffering republican New Yorker.

If he can beat the Beast, nationally, he's got my vote.

I'm from NY and remember something totally different. You say that he was a micromanager but that's exactly what the situation at the time called for. He met stiff resistance in everything he tried to do, but he still managed to completely turn the city around. The job he did in bringing NYC back from the cesspool status it had reached is stunning. Simply put, he got the job done.

Untrue ... radiotherapy is quite debilitating and would have been quite a handicap. Hilary had problems with the one debate she allowed in NY this year. SHould Rudy debate Hillary, I'd pay to see that one.

Rudy's terrific. I lived in NYC during his tenure as mayor. What he did to the city was no less than stunning.
Rudy's biggest problem is that he goes wayyyy overboard when he locks onto something that works, for example extending the clean up of NY streets to coming down hard on the hot dog vendors. That was classic Rudy insanity.

He cut taxes, reformed welfare, was very tough on law and order issues. He is conservative, he just is not a social conservative kiss ass. And since they turned coat on us this election anyway it's not like there reliable anyway. Besides he will take a strong majority of swing voters and independents in which will more then make up for any tantrum they decide to throw in the future.

I have to disagree. At that time Rudy was immensely more popular than the Beast. I remain convinced that the only reason why she won that election was because Lazio was thrown in as a replacement candidate with only a couple of months left to campaign....and most people outside of Long Island had no idea who the hell Lazio was.

We'll need them because we can't rely on the fickle far right wing. If the candidate ain't perfect they piss in their milk and go home. Who needs "friends" like that?Thank you! Those holier than thou types are insufferable. Like little children who just take their ball and go home when things don't go EXACTLY their way without even realizing that they are just cutting off their nose to spite their face.
