Cool, now you are campaigning for NAMBLA? Hey, what do I know, I'm out of touch. Being a queer is all cool now I guess. I guess next it'll be child molsetation. Sure looks like it.

Okay. But bad things tend to happen when the west starts fiddling around with maps of the middle east.

How is the Iraq conflict related to the subject of this thread? Either there was an amazing jump of logic or the war is far stranger than I ever imagined.

Well, you see, in order to win the war, the lesbians must outbreed the terrorists.

If the birth certificate was honest it would say:

MOTHER: Ms. Carpe T. Muncher

FATHER: Some bag of jism picked out of a catalog.

Suzy Quzy:Our country is sooooooo over.

durasell:Did you honestly expect to live your whole life in a country that was exactly the same as the one you were born into?

Got Non sequitur, durasell?

Bad things tend to happen to occupying forces as well.

It's accepted in some geographic areas and not accepted in others. The majority of gay people have quite sensibly moved from those places where it isn't accepted to those places where it is accepted in order to live their lives as they see fit.

Kind of a new take on "Who's on First?"

Our country is not so weak that a simple shift in social mores can destroy it.

I disagree. It is precisely our social mores that make us who we are as a nation. If we no longer wish to form "a more perfect union" and strive for the ideals of our founding as enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Federalist Papers, et al, we will cease to be a nation at all.

Maybe this particular instance won't empty the sandbox but the sand is shifting under our feet...

Got Non sequitur, durasell?

It's related. She said the country was "over." I stated that the country is in a constant state of change.

There are MEDICAL reasons that they might want to trace his genetic background.

From the article:

Under state law, the husband of a woman who gives birth through artificial insemination is listed on the birth certificate as the father. No such provision is made for lesbian couples, who often go through lengthy and costly adoptions to give both women equal rights as parents.
So, it seems the birth certificate does not address the genetic background issue for normal couples, either, when artificial insemination (or infidelity, for that matter) is involved.

It is precisely our social mores that make us who we are as a nation.

You mean the social mores of the 18th century such as slavery and second-class citizenship for women?

Social attitudes change, but the ideals of Liberty and the Representative Democracy endure.

It is normal, because it's always existed.

I'd send your dictionary back for replacement. The copy you got is clearly flawed.

Nice try, though. Thanks for playing.

My son is adopted. His mother is the biological mother. Bio-Dad is dead and never was a part of the child's life.

According to Indiana law, My name was listed on the revised birth certificate. There is nothing on the document to indicate my sone is adopted.

"Social attitudes change, but the ideals of Liberty and the Representative Democracy endure."

It's funny you say that, because this was allowed becuase of judicial fiat.
