Freeper exclusive: Weapons cache demolition causes many to be sick from exposure in Baghdad
private e-mails | 11/16/2006 | RaceBannon

I just received a private e-mail from someone I know from a Marine website who has family in Iraq. There has been a weapons cache explosion that caused many, hundreds of people to be exposed to some chemical that was present in the weapons.

What I have feared is that the Iraqis removd or failed to mark their chemical weapons adequately.

Remember the Sarin and Mustard gas shells 2 years ago?

ANY idiot knows you have to make them spin to mix the chemicals, so, to use them as a roadside bomb almost makes them inert from that perspective.

So, I cna easily imagine that Saddam's people removed the markings from the shells or shell containers that identified these weapons and that people are suing them soon enoug not knowing what is in them.

OR, they did it deliberately.

50/50 chance either way.

How people can be exposed to sarin
Following release of sarin into the air, people can be exposed through skin contact or eye contact. They can also be exposed by breathing air that contains sarin.
Sarin mixes easily with water, so it could be used to poison water. Following release of sarin into water, people can be exposed by touching or drinking water that contains sarin.
Following contamination of food with sarin, people can be exposed by eating the contaminated food.
A person’s clothing can release sarin for about 30 minutes after it has come in contact with sarin vapor, which can lead to exposure of other people.
Because sarin breaks down slowly in the body, people who are repeatedly exposed to sarin may suffer more harmful health effects.
Because sarin vapor is heavier than air, it will sink to low-lying areas and create a greater exposure hazard there.

The political spin at the end of your post #50 indicates to me that you are being played. A soldier in the middle of a fight would not think about such things.

it probably wouldn't be as bad as if the weapons were deployed successfully instead of being exploded in a demolition.

No, no, no, no.

The Democrats are going to deploy the troops, not the weapons caches.

Murtha is deploying the troops to Okinawa and similar places (Saipan, Iwo Jima, New Guinea?)

The Republicans are going to have to do a much better job of educating sheeple about these Islamic fundamentalists.
This type of information is never being received by the general public.

Once the markings come off of a round, it's not easy to tell what it is. Also, Saddam's ammunition was from all over the world. MI and EOD types can usually tell what something is, but the average Marine or soldier would not likely be able to tell the difference between, say, a VX chemical 155 round and a HE one. Keep in mind that we've found over 500 rockets, mortars, and artillery rounds that were chemical rounds. He had them. That's for sure.

These symptoms could indicate a riot control agent.

He wasn't in the middle of a fight. They were just blowing up a weapons cache.

That political comment may not have come from someone directly involved. May have been added by those relaying the info. At any rate, GWB is no longer the main issue. The safety and security of over 100,000 Americans stationed within Iraq are the main concern.
