Hussein, who once said, "The law is two lines above my signature," was fortunate to have a trial at all.

Leftists are saying Saddam didn't get a fair trial? Hoohah Boy! I have to ask where were they when Saddam sent hundreds of thousands to their deaths WITHOUT due process of law? Something Human Rights Watch might have taken care to note in its report on the High Tribunal's proceedings and the subsequent verdict. He at least had his day in court and was represented by counsel. Under Iraqi law, the appeal of his sentence to the nation's highest court is automatic. And for what its worth, where is HRW's compassion for Saddam's victims? Don't their HUMAN RIGHTS count?? Go figure.

Saddam is an enemy of America.
Ergo Saddam is innocent.
The trial is a result of American action.
Ergo: the trial was of the large marsupial variety.
Quod erat demonstrandum.

Saddam's idea of a trial: You'll have a fair trial, and then you'll be hanged!
Now it's happening to him. Hah!

I have no idea why Human Rights Watch made an announcement in this country about a trial of an Iraqi that took place in Iraq. If there is a problem, go to Iraq and raise the issue.

I'm sure the Left would have a different take if the guy sitting in the dock was named George Walker Bush.

Human Rights Watch says Saddam was not given fair trial In order to make up for the unfair trial, I think Saddam's suffering should be lessened by making sure he gets a speedy execution.

Human Rights Watch had nothing to say about human rights in Iraq while Saddam slaughtered tens of thousands.
The Iraqi government should box up a "wood chipper" video and mail it to HRW in New York.

I wonder what the Human Rights Watch group thinks of the trial(s) Saddam's victims never got?
To: Zakeet
Yeah... He was convicted, therefore the trial was biased! /sarc

Iraq law says he'll be executed within 30 days of the conclusion of appeals. I think we should adopt the standard. Its ridiculous when it takes a quarter century to put a murderer to death in America.

My father often quoted a line from some old western: "Let's give him a fair trial before we hang him."

What did these morons say about the fairness of the Milosevic trial? Talk about an unfair trial! I would shut them down until they come up with a responsible, peer reviewed assessment of the "fairness" of the corrupt and incompetent proceedings that did in Milosevic. Until then they are wasting our time and somebody's money.
