Rangel was very clear about his reason for wanting the draft. It wasn't to increase the size of the military to protect the country rather it was that if we had a draft the public pressure would have prevented our going into Iraq (he wasn't clear if it was just the second time or if it in his opinion would have prevented Bush 41 from protecting Kuwait).

The military doesn't want draftees. It takes too long to train a soldier and they have to be motivated as they are in an all volunteer force or they were in WWI and WWII. All you get with a draft is a broken military and cannon fodder.

I wonder if Charlie's plan is going to have lots of exceptions to keep his children and his supporters children from becoming cannon fodder. By the time the Democrats get done with it of course it would exclude their kids.

Also are women going to be drafted? Can't discriminate on the base of sex. If we're going to draft cannon fodder than it should be equal opportunity cannon fodder.

Yes. Last court decision said "no" becuase women were not allowed in most Military Occupation Specialties (MOS) (a/k/a job title), so essentially the Army would have no place to use women. They failed to meet a need.

Now that the feminazis have successfully fought for opening 80% of MOS specialities to women, they can be inserted into 90% of the available positions (a/k/a job openings).
