Jihadis and Whores
Asia Times ^ | Nov 21, 2006 | Spengler

Wars are won by destroying the enemy's will to fight. A nation is never really beaten until it sells its women.

The French sold their women to the German occupiers in 1940, and the Germans and Japanese sold their women to the Americans after World War II. The women of the former Soviet Union are still selling themselves in huge numbers. Hundreds of thousands of female Ukrainian "tourists" entered Germany after the then-foreign minister Joschka Fischer loosened visa standards

in 1999. That helps explain why Ukraine has the world's fastest rate of population decline. On a smaller scale, trafficking in Iranian women explains Iran's predicament.

To understand Iranian politics, cherchez les femmes: the fate of Iranian women sheds light on the eccentricity of President Mahmud Ahmadinejad. By Spengler's Universal Law of Gender ....

This is one of his better efforts, imo.

It's an intriguing hypothesis.

Mistreatment and suppression of women is one of the characteristics of a failed society.

Apparently, the Mullah's Teheran is chock-a-block with hookers - I did not know that!

I'm not surprised. Iran has all the gusto of watching paint dry - that energy has to go somewhere.

Very interesting article.

Nothing is more threadbare than the claim of Islamists to defend Muslim womanhood. Islamist radicals (like the penny-a-marriage mullahs of Iran) are the world's most prolific pimps. The same networks that move female flesh across borders also provide illegal passage for jihadis, and the proceeds of human trafficking often support Islamist terrorists.

I think that Spengler is presenting a very important insight, unless the data he presents re the extent of Persian whoring is simply fabricated.

If true, Iran is on the skids and the Mullahs are desperate.

IF the hypothesis is true, then the current sad situation certain minority communities within the US find themselves in would suggest another lemming movement of sorts. The Rap=crap industry regularly promotes pimps and hoes so shamlessly, the treatment of women in those communities, the high prvalence of abortion there etc are all disturbing trends, IMO.

The West has a way
of putting young teenage girls
in a bright spotlight

and then watching as
the cute, teenage kid becomes
old before her time

(to put it nicely).
Being female any where
these days must be hard.

I have never heard that the population growth rate for Iran is falling. CIA has it growing at 1.1% per year which is faster than the US.

This is the first time I've paid careful attention to this writer, that I recall.

It's reason for hope, I guess; and some of his claims repeat what I heard elsewhere. The business about shiites sanction of "temporary marriage" was cited by some shiite to explain why sunnis are so nasty: they ain't been laid.

If declining populations implies whoring and national decline, then America is in trouble, and I'd gladly hear any suggestions about how I can keep my daughter out of the market.

Population experts were saying a few years ago that poverty increases birthrates-- I guess people can't afford tickets to the symphony so they copulate. For the last decade or so its been maintained that industrialism and rising standard of living would slow population growth.

If this is true of Iran, it must be doubly true of North Korea. How many whorehouses in China?

The main thing: shiites might be on the wane. But what about the sunnis? He mentions Azerbijan, not reassuringly.

Russia collapsed without a single shot fired

Actually many shots were fired in proxy wars from Africa to SE Asia. Fom what I have read Amercians and the Ruskies had direct contact in the skies over the Korean peninsula and in Afghanistan.

This one is definitely a ho, she's checking out your "package'.

Wonder what it smells like under that garb when it's 120 degrees and she just got back from the market?

They bathe daily, don't they?

"Being female any where these days must be hard."

Not if mom knew what was what! And my mom knew. Nothing complicated or difficult about it. I NEVER understood what the 'problem' with femininity was.

I don't know the angle Spengler writes on, but on that show last night on cable about Iran, Red Kopple said Tehran has a large population of young drug addicts. Drugs are hand in hand with other human degradation.

In many Islamic countries, women are forbidden to work. That is,unless it is in a brothel, then every one turns a blind eye.

As always Spngler is thought-provoking. But I have not entirely bought into his central premise - that collapsing birthrates are driving the reckless behavior of Iran and its mullahs. A knowledge of future national death has not driven Europe to recklessness, even though a few countries have passed the statistical point of no return. Rather Europe seems to be becoming somnambulant in its old age.
