363rd Murder Prompts Call for Philadelphia Cut & Run
November 20, 2006 | Doc Savage

Posted on 11/20/2006 5:24:38 PM PST by Doc Savage

The announcement that Philadelphia recorded its 363rd murder today brought calls from both city and state Republicans for an immediate police and citizen pullout from the embattled city.

Former Senator Rick Santorum called on Mayor John Street, (Democrat-Philadelphia) to resign or face impeachment. Calling Street's policy toward criminals "...a failed liberal policy resulting in massive daily deaths on the city's streets" Santorum urged an immediate withdrawl of beleaguered police and citizens.

Santorum stated that Street's lies and malfeasance have led to an ever increasing escalation of a civil war between criminals and law abiding citizens.

Congressman John Murtha,(Democrat-Pennsylvania) downplayed the casualties saying in his opinion the police have acted like crazed Nazi's by trampling on murderer's civil rights.

Gov. Ed )Fast-Eddy) Rendell, when contacted for a response indicated that 363 dead was a minor inconveniece to Philadelphia's trash pickup crews and he personally hoped that Pennsylvania would set a new record death toll by year's end.

If they refuse to act responsibily and withdraw, then we should go ahead and defund Phila.

Santorum is only using their own tactics and language against them by mirroring what they've been saying in Iraq for the last two years. He makes a great point..good for him!

Seeing how this is unlinked and not attributed to any source, I think it is a vanity, and nothing of the sort has happened.

A phased withdrawal of the Philly police force would send a message to the criminal thugs that we are serious about expecting them to stop the killing.

The police should be redeployed "over the horizon" to Bucks County.

I thought this might be a 'cut and run' satire piece, is it really like this down there?

Thought of that just after I hit Post. It's supposed to be put under Vanity or Humor then. Moderator! (LOL)

It's still a good point though.

It's a liberal/socialist quagmire. If Philly's residents want comfort and security they should move to Detroit. /sarcasm

Santorum is still the Senator from Pennsylvania.

Is that number of murders for just this year alone?

And yet, the citizens ranted against the newspaper when they printed the pictures of wanted murderers in Philadelphia. All black, so of course, the paper was called racist.

Not an outcry about the murderers just an outcry that their pictures were in the paper.

What to do about a city full of such morons.

And I'd like to point out that it still on track for fewer murders than in 1995 when "right to carry" was imposed on the city.
