He belongs to a group of people that believe they will become gods. He has taken an oath to follow his Prophet in everything, and use everything within his power to "further the gospel of the Church." (Not the gospel of Christ - - but the gospel of his Church) To me that is a BIG problem.

Who would be a worst president? A Mormon, or a flaming anti-God radical secularlist (read: Hillary)?

Yeah, and how about the politicians who ascribe to some of the outlandish fairy tales of other faiths? It's okay to vote for people who believe in JC as the savior though, right?

Agreed. I could never vote for a Mormon President.

His church is a Ponzi scheme, not just another Christian denomination (because LDS is NOT Christian, despite what they themselves claim).

His church has a President/Prophet who receives direct ongoing revelation from their god (not the Christian God). He, and the Council of the Twelve.

Because the basic tenets of Mormonism deny the basic tenets of Christianity (its actually reminiscent of old Gnosticism), I cannot support it. A Mormon President will pack government with Mormon cronies at all levels.

Mormonism craves legitimacy. It craves recognition as Christian (which it is not).

SUMMARY: I can vote DEMOCRAT before I can vote MORMON.

For me, religious affiliation is paramount over mere political party affiliation.

So you post this poll (which has been posted a couple times already) and say matter-of-factly that he is "unelectable".

But then we get to the truth that you posted this tripe because you don't like/trust his religion because it is not "Christian".

Now I get it.

Not just become a god, but get their own planet. The problem I've dealt with with a number of Mormons is what I call "getting your planet too soon", - they start to believe everything they do is godlike. Harry Reid is a good example, I've dealt with others who are the same.

Plus there's interference by the Bishops, magic underwear, treatment of women and blacks, and a bunch of other things (Joseph Smith especially) to deal with.

Well, since the President doesn't have the power to make those kinds of changes in our government, it doesn't matter, does it?

CC you know darn good and well that is NOT what the oath says.

It says the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (It must have been a LOOOOOONG time since you have been to the Temple.

JMHO: Forget his religion; he wouldn’t get my vote based on his Conservative credentials. We are electing a president, not a Pope. I think the Mainstream media would like to distract us away from the one issue that is always a winner. Conservatism, during the last election, Conservative Democrats won over Liberal Republicans. The Conservative Republicans were quietly re-elected. The MSM would love to have aus talk about ANYTHING, but what will win us the Presidency in 08, and religion, shouldn’t be an issue because it’s not a winner. So, is there a good conservative candidate out there, and how does this Mormon support him (Man I wish Zell Miller would run as a Pubbie, I liked him.)

Once again you get it wrong! I've never heard of such an oath-it does not exist. If you continue to attack the LDS Church, get the facts first.
