Let her keep talking and when she doesn't deliver, then in 2008 we take back the House! Cannot believe the House will be headed by a socialist who hires non-union labor in her vineyard. Noticed the press didn't have much to say about that.

Amazing that when republicans took the majority we were told that half of the country did not vote for them and they must share power, committee's etc but now the press never mentions that half of Americans did not vote for democrats either
And, in the senate, neither side has a majority.

This is someone who's going to make Newt seem well-loved when she gets done.
Nothing like a pushy dame with an attitude to put peoples' backs up, especially other women.

Hey Pelosi Galore, I know you blew off old Charlie on the "draft" deal, but hey, how about asking him a question for some of us?
Ask him if he is so upset that the military, as it is, penalizes the poorer guys in our society and protects the richer kids from serving in the military, then why doesn't wily old Charlie protest the efforts by liberal wackos to keep military recruiters off many prestigious university campuses where they could reach many of those "rich kids"? ROTC too?

Pelosi plans to start the 110th Congress with a bang on Jan. 4 -- when the House holds its ceremonial swearing in and elects her as speaker -- by immediately setting off on a sprint of several weeks to enact the Democrats' ambitious 100-hour agenda. Hey, Nancy! Good luck getting that 100-hour agenda of yours past the Senate and Bush's veto pen.

"Given the well-earned do-nothing reputation of the 109th Congress..."
The best that could be said about them. Otherwise we would be at the complete mercy of their evil and malice.

About 1 kg of chemicals go into that face per day. I wonder how many grams (liters?) of Botox.

ROTC too? I called Rangles office yesterday and said they should cut off federal funds to Yale and Harvard if they don't allow recruiters on the campus.
That would be more effective than insulting the troops like Kerry does. They hung up on me.

I hope you're right. I hope Dubya has the stuff enough to veto. He's awfully conciliatory lately and it gives me a sinking feeling.
To: SmithL
It is imperative that we waste no time in addressing the pressing needs facing our nationIf Bush is smart he will veto everything this insane nut tries to push through the system to his desk. And this minimum wage thing is a joke. This one will have little or no effect on business since most pay more than that anyway. Some businesses that it might effect can probably work around it.

Bush has a veto pen? Are you sure?

"Given the well-earned do-nothing reputation of the 109th Congress and its record-setting minimal number of days in session, Pelosi is right to get a quick and sustained start to the 110th Congress," said Thomas Mann, a congressional scholar at the Brookings Institution. "Forget the vacation time -- better to move quickly to set an expectation of more time and serious work in Washington."
What a moron.

the house repubs can run out the clock before the SOTU with endless debate & amendments.
