THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR OUR SOLDIERS
Today we gather around the dinner table with family and friends to share good food, warm laughter, and the happy memories of Thanksgivings past. But for many families, whose loved ones serve in the Armed Forces, this year's Thanksgiving celebration will not be complete.
A familiar voice will not be heard and a chair at the table will remain empty because, they have someone far from home serving our country.
Today also, members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Airforce and Coastguard (men and women, Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard alike) will gather in mess halls or in tents across the globe as friends and comrades to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
So, as those of us who are blessed to be with our families celebrate and give thanks, let us remember in our prayers the homes that have an empty chair at the table and also offer a special prayer of thanksgiving and ask Gods Blessings for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, whose service and sacrifice will, we further pray, make the world a better and safer place. And a very special prayer dear God, for those homes that have an empty chair that will forever remain vacant and for those servicemen and women who have come back to us, may their sacrifice not have been in vain.
THANKSGIVING PRAYER
Oh God, when I have food, help me remember the hungry. When I have a home, help me remember the homeless. When I am with friends and family who love me, help me remember those who are friendless and shunned. And remembering, help me destroy my complacency, move my heart and reach out by word and deed to those who cry out for what we take for granted.
May God bless our troops abroad and at home, and those who wait for them.
Thank you for linking to the video. I'm going to try to take it to our Thanksgiving dinner today.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving, everyone!
Amen!
Father God,
We are so grateful for the courage and selflessness of our brave troops.
Extend your guidance and protection over all of them today and every day, Lord God, that your kingdom of love, grace and mercy may inhabit all the earth.
Send your Holy Spirit to each of them and their families at home, Lord, to comfort and strengthen them until their loved one returns, and to be in their midst as they learn and grow in your spirit.
Father, we remember all those who have gone before us and pray that you lift them to your highest heaven.
Finally, we pray for our enemies, Lord, and for all their captive peoples. Bring the light of your Son and our Savior into their hearts and minds.
In Jesus' holy name,
Amen!
A special place in our hearts and prayers for our military and their families. Blessings on them all.
Amen. And a special prayer for those in the Secret Service now.
Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!
Please, Please...
Keep and revere the empty chair.
Do honor and show respect to those who cannot share it with us, cuz their duty calls.

Bless you...
They ALL are always in my prayers.
Pinging the entire list for prayers and thanks to the troops.
A special Thanksgiving blessing for those overseas, at home, and the families that await their return.

Amen.
Very cool. Thanks for the link. It's funny, none of those men and women appeared to be "stuck" in Iraq. I guess the only people who feel "stuck" when fighting for freedom are moronic, high society, blowhard DemocRATic Senators from Massachusetts.
Prayers lifted.
Thanks. That was a good story and definitely proof we live in a small world!
Prayers for the safety and well-being of our troops and Thanksgiving that there still exist brave men who are willing to sacrifice everything for the defense of our country.
