Religion in America: Church and State [Brit Hume Special]
FoxNews Channel ^ | 11-25-06 | Brit Hume

Posted on 11/25/2006 12:47:54 PM PST by Salvation

Did any of you see this Special that Brit Hume did today?

It was an excellent look at Religion in America, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and where the idea of a wall between Church and State originated. Great look into the HISTORY of the founding of the United States of America.

Also a look at the current movers and shakers and the Supreme Court.

Watch it when it airs again. (I'm sure it will.)

The first comments out of my mouth after watching this were:
"Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful."

I'm pretty sure this is a re-airing of the special.

It was certainly worth watching.

I did searches for it on FR and nothing came up. I thought it was an original this weekend. Guess that is my mistake.

My mistake -- I missed the other thread. If you want to close this one, could you please refer them to the original one? Thanks.

I missed it last year, evidently. It should be run more often.

I didn't realize it had run last year. I would like to see it probably every quarter.

Guess I missed this totally last year. It is an excellent presentation of the entire look at church and state and what the Constitution REALLY says!

I didn't hear about it last year, either. I'm glad you posted a thread and pinged me. I don't have TV but my dad does, and even has FoxNews now, so hopefully, prayerfully, he watched this program!

America could not be without Christ. This system of Constitutional government, the very words used in our First Amendment, arose solely from faith in God the Giver of life and liberty to man, and the wisdom which we know from His Word.

If the enemies of freedom within or without our borders succeed in removing completely all our history from the minds of the upcoming generations, and even any willingness in those minds to perceive lies and to discover truth, if they do indeed remove public worship of Him The Founder of All Nations, or any mere acknowledgment of Him or His Word whatsoever from our places of assembly and education and governorship, and if the people fail to seek Him under such bondage, America as she has been known will not survive or be a part of the plan for deliverance of the world, which is ultimately through Israel, the Jews, Jerusalem. Oh, that we would be loyal to the fathers of our sacred faith!

If we repent, turn and seek His Face, if we change our wicked ways and humble ourselves before Him, if we do justly and love mercy, God Himself will establish a heritage in our day, to make use of America for good and not for evil, even as He has so granted in times past, by His Good Pleasure and Council. O Lord, may it be so, that we would be the America You Founded us to be in the beginning, when the Pilgrim fathers came, in the Name of Jesus, the Only King, our only hope, amen.

I thought it was an original this weekend. Guess that is my mistake.

Don't flog yourself.
I doubt that even a "Rainman" could keep up with the tsunami of
information we have to these days via cable/satellite/DVD,
not to mention the Internet!

I am hoping that Fox News will offer this in a DVD or video format like they did Obsession. Maybe they need to get messages from us requesting it.
