I agree that God's law doesn't end with the Ten Commandments, but I think you are missing my point. Although homosexuality is a sin, there is nothing in the Bible that elevates homosexuality above or even to the level of adultry, failing to keep the Sabbath holy, or any of the other Ten Commandments.

You miss my point. To break the law in one part is to break the whole law. As to the ranking of statutes of the law, the ultimate penalty is the same for breaking any of them, although some may have more severe earthly penalties.

So what makes some sins [seem] more heinous than others? We are impressed that murder is worse than perjury or adultery, but this may be shortsighted. What makes some sins so abominable is their gross demonstration of error.

Sexual sin is insidious. Homosexual sins make the insidious nature of sexual sin manifest, for few (except the most deceived) can ignore how violative such sins are of God's order. So-called Christians who openly practice or approve of such sin are deceived or worse, lost ("Those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit; For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on flesh is hostile to God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so" (Romans 8:5-7))

One hundred years ago the marriage of "Tom and Katie" would be more than a national embarrassment. This just reflects how accomodating our culture has become of fornication (and siring of children out of wedlock). Now we're skirting with mainlining sexual deviancy and punishing those who disagree! I can't wait to see what the Dems float for "Hate Crimes" legislation.

Otherwise they are just setting up their sin as an idol to be worshipped.

It already is.

The bible is clear that homosexual acts are sins.

Conservatives should be clear that no one should get special rights for sexual orientation - i.e. the government has no business providing for gay marriage.

As a seperate issue, Christians are called to love their fellow humans and to treat them decently, even the sinners.

So, by your argument, is it any less a sin and can therefore, be indulged in at will? A man lying with a man is described as 'an abomination' to God. It not only sounds a whole lot worse than the other sins you mention, but the penalty is really bad! Sodom and Gomorrah weren't leveled because some people didn't observe the Sabbath. God specifically judged those two towns because of sexual immorality among the populace at large, many of whom were homosexual.

It's a matter of time before God judges America for the same sin.
