The Islamic Republic compared to a pack of wolves by Kuwaiti media.

  • Iran Press News reported that the Islamic Republic is angry that the Kuwaiti media has begun printing cartoons that show rockets instead of our clerics’ turbans, drawing insulting caricatures of Ahmadinejad and open insolence to the Islamic Republic's supreme leader and has compared the rulers of the Islamic republic of Iran to a pack of wolves.

 

Iraq was undercut by naive faith, not in democracy but in diplomacy.

  • Michael Rubin, USA Today argued that after billions spent and the sacrifice of almost 3,000 U.S. troops, it is right to ask whether democracy in Iraq was not a fool's dream. It was not.

  • Michael Ledeen, The Corner reported that an Iranian woman and her two children, marooned in the lounge of the Moscow Airport, apparently doomed to a potentially fatal return to Iran apparently not going to be extradited to Tehran, at least for two weeks. And more good news?

  • Amir Taheri, Asharq Alawsat reported that of the war clouds that hang over the Middle East at this moment the thickest and the most menacing is stuck over Lebanon, with the possibility of instantly expanding to include first Syria, then Israel and eventually Iran.
  • Breitbart.com reported that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived in Tehran on Monday to meet with his Iranian counterpart amid increasing calls for Washington to enlist Iran's help in calming the escalating violence in neighboring Iraq.
  • Iran Press News reported that the Islamic Republic has gone on the offensive in response to Canada's pressing for UN action against the incalculable human rights violations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

People who live under oppressive regimes have grown numb and accepting of the subversive nature of the words "open insolence" and don't really understand how much the fact that they use it says about them and their society.
