Al Jazeera English has a headline bar at the bottom of their picture. It doesn't crawl across the screen, it just changes every 10 seconds. Currently there are 5 of them: AFGHANISTAN: BUSH SEEKS MORE TROOPS
US KILLS GIRLS AND BABY IN IRAQ
POPE CALLS FOR RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE
EU NATIONS 'KNEW OF CIA PRISONS'
CORREA CONFIRMED ECUADOR PRESIDENT
If I've not done this vanity post correctly, please let me know. It's the first time I've tried.
Sorry for the clutter on the summary. I thought putting in html line breaks would format it properly instead of looking like a jumble of words all in caps.
Looks fine to me.
You need either two BR or one P code for paragraph breaks.
How about that....the Dems advocate the killing of babies in the U.S.
When is the launch date/time for this newest propaganda network?
I should have realized the browse page automatically strips out line breaks for the summary, at least in my settings. The actual thread page looks ok except for the lack of a break after the word 'them'.
Thanks for the feedback.
Actually, how much worse than CNN can it be?
It's launched. Nov 15, apparently.

you can watch it on their site.
Is it any different than CNN? Seriously.
Probably better than CNN Int'l and worse than CNN US. But they're new, so who knows what depths they may reach.
I hear you. You may want to look at TORPARK, the proxy browser based on Firefox. Or not. I should have just posted it here:
Al Jazeera English goes live
Al Jazeera English, the new international news channel from the Qatar-based television network, has begun broadcasting from its main studios in Doha.
The opening broadcast, which was expected to be available in 80 million households around the world, took place at 3pm Doha time (12:00 GMT) and featured a clip introducing the channel. Aiming to be the channel of reference for Middle East events, Al Jazeera also has broadcast centres Kuala Lumpur, London and Washington.
Al Jazeera, which celebrated its 10th anniversary on November 1, has revolutionised news media in the Arab world, and has also provoked controversy.
'Unprecedented' launch
Wadah Khanfar, the director-general of Al Jazeera network, said on the eve of the first broadcast: "Our launch figure is over double the original target we set for ourselves."
"This is unprecedented in the broadcasting industry - no other international news channel has launched with such a high number of homes across the world.
"We will continue to build on this figure after launch and will be looking to expand our reach significantly. This is another reflection of the strength of Al Jazeera brand."
In addition to cable and satellite, it will be available on broadband, IPTV, ADSL, terrestrial and mobile phone platforms.
This is what the're saying:
Children killed in US raid in Iraq
Five young girls and a baby have been killed in a US raid on a house in the Iraqi city of Ramadi, the US military has told Al Jazeera English.
The US military said two armed men had opened fire from the roof of a house on a US patrol disarming a roadside bomb, prompting the soldiers to reply with tank fire on Tuesday.
Following the pre-dawn barrage, US troops carried out "an extensive search of the house and found one male and five females, ages ranging from infant to teenaged, dead," the statement said.
The US military blamed the fighters for the incident.
The raid resulted in no US casualties
"It was reported that one of the insurgents was wounded and other insurgents came to remove him from the scene," the US military statement said.
Capain Frank Pasqual, a spokesman for US central command, told Al Jazeera: "What we're looking at is a terrible case of insurgents planting bombs and using civilians as shields which resulted in an ambush and terrible tragedy.
Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Salas, a US marine spokesman, said: "Efforts are underway to coordinate and offer available assistance to surviving family members."
"The concern is loss of innocent life."
Ramadi is in Anbar province, scene of some of the fiercest fighting between US forces and fighters.
That headline belongs to a news item about a US tank accidentally killing some girls and babies in a house while answering fire from insurgents on that house.
Al Jazeera never reports how many girls are killed by car bombs or IED's.
This is just perfect. Now we allow enemy propaganda streamed right to our nations voters and activists alike.
"Lord, please let the spirit of General Patton decend upon our citizens and national leaders...."
Remember that we bombed a "baby milk factory" in 1991. We know this because the words "baby milk factory" were sewn, in English, on the backs of the plant workers. I saw it all on CNN, so it must be true!
In fact, the Pentagon long ago devised bombs that only kill women, children, seasoned citizens, sick people, and the blind -- leaving healthy men untouched!
/liberal paranoia off
I wonder if Al Jazeera commented on the Christian schoolgirls beheaded by Muslims in, as I recall, Indonesia about a year ago.
I didn't think so.
