Webb's an arrogant, obnoxious boor who doesn't play well with others, including the President of the United States? Who knew?

Only anybody who's taken a cursory look at the guy. And yet, I was lectured by some on this forum for not respecting a decorated Marine war hero.

Think WaPo's got buyer's remorse yet? Webb's going to be the gift that keeps on giving for the Republicans.

Yes, but Republicans needed to be taught a lesson this year.

Psst ... Pay no attention to that war, those judges and all the taxes.

Thank you Virginia.

Now you have a Chuck Schumer.

This is hysterically funny and so very much on target. George Will has just shot an arrow into Jim Webb's heart!

Damn Will, just say it and make your point. This guy has gotten to be the biggest wind-bag around. He's barely readable anymore with his penchant for trying to sound so damned intellectual.

"Mr. Smith goes to Washington" . . . . . with an attitude.

Senator Webb, I voted for you so you could stir things up.

Don't disappoint me.

Oh, please, these niceties. The most boorish experience in November came from the Republican spokesman from the WH, the Tony Lord of Snowdon. In the wee hours, he expressed his glee over the subjugation of the nattering nabobs of neo-nativism--those icky Joe Sixpackers who want our borders protected.

The WH just wanted to take that three AM opportunity to antagonize and alienate those icky conservatives who showed up faithfully to vote.

When I was in the Marine Corps 25 years ago there were two must read books. The non-fiction book was Dispatches which Kubrick turned into a cliche in Full Metal Jacket. The fictional book was Fields of Fire by Webb.

"The most important -- and unfortunately the least debated -- issue in politics today is our society's steady drift toward a class-based system, the likes of which we have not seen since the 19th century. America's top tier has grown infinitely richer and more removed over the past 25 years. It is not unfair to say that they are literally living in a different country."

Guess it's safe to say he bought into the wealthy trial lawyer John Edwards' "two Americas" mythical analysis!

Neither of these "liberal wonders" point out that many of the super wealthy today, like Edwards, came from lower-income families and rose to greath wealth in just one generation.

Some took risks through starting businesses, working hard, taking risks, creating jobs for others, meeting payrolls, and making sound decisions.

Others, like Edwards, did it through courtroom performances and "leaching" off the misfortunes of others.

If the Left imposes its socialist model of mandated redistribution of wealth upon future generations, in the name of "solving the poverty problem," then opportunity for all wage levels will decline, resulting in an amassing of power by politicians and bureaucrats.

Ideas have consequences! A concept the Left never takes into account when spouting the "class warfare" rhetoric, ignoring the 200+ year history of America.

I just can't abide the stilted prose of the twerpy George Will. Is that a bow tie around his neck, or a starched organdy crinoline?

Webb is bought and paid for by the unions, his behavior reflects this.

While I am on the subject of the unions, DeMint has a bill before congress to deny security identity cards for admittance to secure areas of ports to felons. This is an important security measure that the unions are fighting. This bill needs our support. If you can help, I'll get the number of the bill for you.
