Terri's Story
Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation ^ | December 3,2006 | Schindler Foundation

Posted on 12/03/2006 3:03:26 AM PST by 8mmMauser

Theresa Marie Schindler was born to Robert and Mary Schindler on December 3, 1963. She was the first of three children the Schindlers would have.

Terri was a shy, but comical, child who had an affinity for music, animals and the arts. She kept a small circle of friends and was dear to schoolmates, neighboring families and her own extended family.

Following high school, Terri came into her own. She developed a knack for sketching and doodling. She enjoyed outings with her friends. She was an adoptive mother to the family’s dog, Bucky.

Terri attended Catholic School while growing up and remained close to her faith throughout her life.

In 1983, Terri met Michael Schiavo at Bucks County Community College and the two began dating. He was the first romantic interest Terri had.

The couple was engaged within a few months and married a year later at Terri’s church in Southampton, Pa. She was 21.

In 1986, Terri and Michael relocated to Pinellas County, Florida and her parents followed three months later.

In 1990, at the age of 26, Terri suffered a mysterious cardio-respiratory arrest for which no cause has ever been determined. She was diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy – neurological injury caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Terri was placed on a ventilator, but was soon able to breathe on her own and maintain vital function. She remained in a severely compromised neurological state and was provided a PEG tube to ensure the safe delivery of nourishment and hydration.

On March 31, 2005, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of marked dehydration following more than 13 days without nutrition or hydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer of the Pinellas-Pasco’s Sixth Judicial Court. Terri was 41.

I guess you don't know, or don't want to know the answer to my question.

Sure I do, that is why I asked you that question.

They did allow a firm to use names and email addresses of those who donated to Terri's plight. The Schindlers worked with a firm well versed in telemarketing. Thousands of unsuspecting donors' personal contact information was sold and rented out. In addition to one time use fees, they found a way to charge advertisers/fundraisers by the month to use the information.

I was wondering, who had Terri killed? The Shindlers?

It will never end in my heart. She was brutally murdered for convenience and money, and vengeance against her parents, imo.

Her murder was state sanctioned, pressed by a group of individuals hungry for the death of an incapacitated woman, a hunger they satisfied, just as they killed her by literally starving her to death.....oh, and not just by denying her food, oh no, they FORCED HER TO SUFFER THE AGONY OF THRIST. Even ICE CHIPS were forbidden to cool her cracking lips and tongue.

And just as her death remains a crime in my heart and mind, forever, her husband, THE MONSTER, was out fornicating with a woman, busy satisfying his need for sex, and fun and companionship. Oh yeah, and making babies to boot. And all the while Terri, so very inconveniently refused to die a natural death. Must have driven the monster crazy....ol mr. " Is the bitch dead yet " himself. He had Terri shoved into a hospice for the TERMINALLY ILL...

WHICH SHE NEVER WAS!)..... so he could hide the neglect and control Terri completely. Hospice is DESIGNED to ease people through death.....NOT people who feel HUNGER and THRIST and WANT TO LIVE.

No WONDER that monster wanted that body in the bed so loved by her bothersome parents killed.

And, oh my, hospice was so GLAD to comply, who the hell cares about the minor TERMINALLY ILL clause.

>> Even more interesting is why so many amateur Columbos believe they know more about this than those who actually investigated it?

Who investigated it? Where is the report?

The investigation is here and ongoing. Maybe you can answer my usual question? The coroner made a point of throwing out the old "bulimia" theory nonsense. We are therefore left with no coherent explanation of Terri Schiavo's injuries. I keep hoping somebody can supply one. So, explain to me, please, how a healthy young woman, almost certainly asleep, ended up on the hallway floor, face down, in cardiac arrest and nearly dead, shortly after Michael came home late that Saturday night?

Your answer has to fit all medical findings including Terri's ER blood testing and the bone scan. Give yourself a bonus if you can explain where and why Michael lied to the police who responded to 911.

Bjs1779 did give you an answer, namely, that the question is entirely irrelevant to the case. Which is all one has to know. Irrelevant is irrelevant.

If you really need another memorial thread about Terri, I suggest you post a vanity or link an article from a website that does not solicit donations for the Schindlers. Monetary issues are relevant. This seemingly heartfelt article is nothing more than attempt to solicit donations by the Schindlers.

I guess Jim Rob could of pulled it. BTW, I didn't post it. Do you want to complain to him?

Actually I'm happy to discuss the situation relating to the Schindler's solicitations.

Just little ol' me, Hadook.

You could figure it out too. The Schindlers' finances did not affect the legal issues or the long courtroom struggle in any way. Therefore, they were irrelevant. See how easy this is?

>> I was asking a question because I heard that they sold the list of donors to some firm.

Nothing wrong with that. It's routine practice in the direct mail advertising business for firms or brokers to buy, rent and sell lists of donors or other specified groups. A conservative from Texas, Richard Viguerie, developed the practice in the 1960s and was the first to computerize lists of political donors. It helped get Ronald Reagan elected not many years later.

Glad to hear it. It was the smart thing for the Schindlers to do. It is perfectly legal and ethical business practice, used every day in the ad business. Yes, of course the lists are rented out from time to time. That is how you make money in the rental trade.

THIS THREAD commemorates Terri Schiavo's 43rd birthday. It is not posted to solicit money. It is here to publish tributes to a young woman who was unjustly put to death but whose courage changed many lives.

Below is a tribute specially written for Free Republic by Msgr. Malanowski, who was at Terri's bedside many times over the years and who was with her almost to the moment she died. (I take the liberty of reposting it from #69)

A Tribute

We are all born for heaven. The birth of Jesus on which we focus during Advent, reminds us of our eternal birth into everlasting happiness when we complete our journey on earth. Terri Schindler-Schiavo has shown us the way to our heavenly home by her heroic life of love and sacrifice. Terri, lovingly and tenderly is waiting for the way when, we, too, will enter the doorway of our eternal home and share with her the peace and joy which the birth of Jesus promises by His Coming on earth.

May our Christmas holy days, 2006, fulfill for our human and spiritual desires and be grateful for the life and memory of Terri Schindler as she celebrates her second birthday (12/3) in heaven. Terri has taught us how to love perfectly- the gift of life.

A Blessed Christmas to all -- filled with many Graces and Blessings! A Happy and Healthy New Year!

Monsignor Thaddeus F. Malanowski

BykrBayb, I couldn't be here for long this morning, so I'm just now getting to this moving tribute you wrote for Terri. Wow! It's beautiful and so expressive.

Sophie Scholl and Terri were both deprived of most of their natural lives. I like to think Sophie was there to welcome Terri. The Nazis killed her when she was only 21. But they couldn't break her. "You'll be on trial next," she told them, and they were. Today Sophie is commemorated everywhere in Germany. There are more than 100 schools named for her. She is triumphant in life and death alike. I hope she and Terri are both there to welcome you and me and all of their friends here below :-)
