This day four years ago at 0630 / 6:30 AM AKDT, Trig Paxson Van Palin was born. “Trig is a perfect child born in an imperfect world,” as his mother Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has written and said many times. While many of us wake up groggy, sometimes cursing and staggering around until we get our morning cup of rocket fuel in us, Trig “welcomes each day with thunderous applause and laughter.“

    THE FREEDOM POST ^ | March 16, 2012 | Matthew Burke
Madison, who's recognized as playing the most significant role in drafting the Constitution, has some of the very most powerful, educational, inspirational, and prophetic quotes of any of our great founders. Most of Madison's famous quotes deal with constitutionally limited government, describing it and justifying it. Reading them causes several bells to go off, because his words illuminate both the "how" and the "why" our government has so drastically bastardized the U.S. Constitution and the founding principles, created to protect us from out-of-control, all-powerful, tyrannical government, which has been the norm throughout history...
  • Chris Rock Riffs on Obama’s 50th Birthday Party

Chris Rock apparently doesn’t care whether he’s invited to President Obama’s next birthday party. The comedian used Obama’s 50th birthday bash as material for a surprise stand-up appearance at the Comedy Store club in Los Angeles this weekend. Saying he felt like “he died and went black heaven,” Rock shared a few details about the August birthday party, which was closed to the media. The informal barbecue at the White House was paid for by the Obamas, according to the Washington Post, and featured a celebrity-heavy guest list including Jay-Z, Tom Hanks and Whoopi Goldberg. While Rock called the party...

FORT LAUDERDALE— A marital spat that began when a Plantation man didn't wish his wife a happy birthday and then escalated into a domestic violence charge resulted in an usual bond court ruling by a perceptive judge. Instead of setting bond or keeping Joseph Bray locked up, he ordered him to treat his spouse to dinner, a bowling date and then to undergo marriage counseling. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Each year the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project asks governors from all 50 states to issue a proclamation declaring February 6th “Ronald Reagan Day”. Today, The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project proudly commends the governors -- Republicans and Democrats alike -- who have recognized Reagan’s 101st birthday in their states. “It is wonderful news that thirty-three governors have declared today “Ronald Reagan Day” in their states. It is sad that sixteen Democratic governors place partisan politics above respect for a great President,” said Grover Norquist, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project. Governors who have issued proclamations honoring Reagan...

Today marks President Ronald Reagan’s 101st birthday. Born in Tampico, Illinois, Reagan made his journey west to Iowa as a radio broadcaster, then on to California to take Hollywood by storm. He crossed America as a spokesman for General Electric, and then — after discovering the import of conservative values — entered the political arena, where he would ultimately lead his fellow citizens out of a wilderness of self-doubt, helping the country come to see that it could be morning in America once again. Today, writing what may be the wire service's last calendar-driven excuse to heap praise on him while he is still alive, the AP's Peter Orsi described Cuban dictator Castro as a "revolutionary icon" with an "outsize persona," who in his prime was "a gregarious public speaker," and while in retirement remains a "prolific writer."

Departed Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist turned me on to one of his favorites, " The Road To Serfdom," by Friedrich Hayek, who pretty much told all on the evils of socialism. Abraham Lincoln loved the Bible as well as Shakespeare, Byron and Burns. George Washington was not only Biblically literate, he had excelled in sciences and manner. The news that President Obama decided to read a biography of Ronald Reagan during his Christmas holiday in Hawaii might be taken as a sign that Reagan’s triumph over liberals is complete. Can anyone imagine John F. Kennedy admitting he was reading a biography of Calvin Coolidge, or Jimmy Carter taking in lessons from Dwight Eisenhower? This represents the culmination of a remarkable turnabout in Reagan’s reputation, most notably among liberals, who might have been expected to do to Reagan what an earlier generation of partisan historians did to Coolidge. Instead, we have seen a raft of books from liberal...
