Let me guess. She probably was going to break up with him and he went nuts.
Poor young lady, may she rest in peace. Prayers for that disturbed young man.
Interesting fact about Sam Houston State. In the early 1900's it was known as Sam Houston Institute of Teaching. The powers that be reportedly decided to change the name of the school after some freshmen started wearing sweatshirts emblazened with the schools initials around campus.
This does call to mind the old saying, "No good deed goes unpunished."
May she rest in peace, and may God reward her for her heroic efforts to save this young man.
Oh, I didn't know you are in Huntsville. Thanks for posting this - the story is mystifying and heart-breaking.
It has been on local TV news (Houston) all day. The victim was a beautiful girl - cheerleader in HS and at SHSU. Her roommates didn't hear anything before the gunshots - no fighting or angry words.
He wasn't her boyfriend, just a friend. And evidently, she didn't really consider him that, exactly. Her poor father was on the news, being asked about funeral plans and he was just in shock, just spent.
When he finally spoke, he was sighing and said "well, the weekend, I guess - she has so many, many friends and we want them all to be able to come." That was so poignant, thinking of her friends and their schedules.
I believe there is a vigil Wednesday night, either there in Huntsville or here, maybe at Spring Woods HS, which she attended. Very sad story.
God bless her and her family. How are the Zetas holding up?
