BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. -- New Brighton police are charging teenagers with vandalism at a Beaver County church after authorities said the teens took a pipe and hit the head off the Virgin Mary statue at the Holy Family Church on Thanksgiving.
Police said the teens admitted they were planning on burning the statue with gasoline but were scared off when neighbors saw them.
All are facing numerous charges.
Hope these thugs get some prison time.

The level of viciousness displayed here suggests that 4 does not apply and that there is more to the story.
I'd like to see them sentenced to some serious time assisting Catholic charities in their mission to aid the poor and infirm. Let them learn what it was they so foolishly attacked.
Even if the overt display of religious symbols offended them?
Why should vandalism and destruction of personal property result in prison?

I suppose this is not a hate crime because it's merely an attack on a Christian religion figure.
I think maybe they were just dumb clucks duped into hating the church by liberals at their schools and in the media. It's cool to hate those who believe these days.
Agreed that "stupid vandals" are generally too lazy to bring gasoline to a Church to torch a statue. If it was a cross instead of the Blessed Mother we could charge these a-holes with a "hate crime."
Wonder what other activities these hoodlums have been up to? Any neighborhood pets missing, any uncaught arsonists on the loose, any vandalism? Keep an eye on these sickos they sound like sociopaths in training.
Had they been more clever, they would have obtained an NEA grant to dumpt the severed head in a jar of urine and call it art.
I doubt they were Muslim. Beaver County PA isn't exactly a Muslim stronghold, at least not that I'm aware.
10 to 1 their parents are big libs and they'll have ACLU lawyers.
