Yeah. The Simpson-Mazzoli bill was a hell of a good try at eliminating illegal aliens too. Compromise with evil is not virtuous. It is spineless.

Then Simpson said "We need to understand that not everyone with a (D) next to their name signed up to be guards at Lenin's tomb, and not everyone with an (R) next to their name just crawled out of a cave."

It was actually a pretty funny rant. BTW there were only so many job opportunities at Lenin's tomb, so many Dems were disappointed. And I walk out of my cave, it's a big one.

Sounds like simpson is becoming more democrat with old age creeping in. Yep, this report is a wonderful piece of work done by a bunch of out of government, former government workers, who spent a lot of our tax money, meeting, flying around, meeting then got together and followed the democrat line of surrender. Too hell with the troops and their effort to free a nation of a sadistic family and bring the peace and their form of democracy.

"....but there's something they hate (Iran) more. That's anarchy in Iraq."

What utter nonsense! Iran is DIRECTLY F**king responsible for the anarchy in Iraq.

The epitome of our loss of sovereign constitutional government is the farce of a "study group" deciding how to execute the Iraq war.

Why are Americans just placidly accepting the corporatist fascist concept of a study group instead of citizen through constitutional government affecting our national policy?

Instead of arguing over their report, citizens should be firing all the politicians who put together and support the breakdown of our government like this.

How can anyone in their right mind think this farce of a group has merit. If any of them have been to Iraq to actually see what's going on, it was for a brief time. My guess is the little sissies just get hysterical if their attire gets muddied. These folks don't have a clue! They're just armchair, Iraq war shrinks...

Well, I'd sure rather be a 100 percenter than a 49% like Alan Simpson and the rest of the Iraq Surrender Group have become... Unable to commit and stay committed to the WOT, or the vile bile of tyranny, to say nothing of the threat to national security of being able to secure oil at stable market prices in the world!!!

This collection of "formers" have obviously capitulated to the "No Blood For Oil" croud with Ramsey Clark and A.N.S.W.E.R. to help America seek out disgrace and defeat for the second time in American history!!!

I used to admire you during the Thomas hearings and such, Alan, but you can take your 49% attitude and shove it 100% of the way up your differential as far as I'm concerned!!!

Ya know... BigSkyFreeper... This is just as stupid as that Dubai Ports deal and that errant Supreme Court nomination, but this time with a "group-think" committee's endorsement!!!

That's how this 100 percenter sees it!!!

"A 100 percenter is a person you don't want to be around," he said. "They have gas, ulcers, heartburn and they seethe. They're not seekers, they're seethers. There's a lot of them out there. And we're going to get it from the far right, we're going to get it from the far left. We're going to get, bombs away."

I guess FDR was a 100 percenter, because he demanded nothing less than unconditional surrender from the Axis powers. And Truman? He must have been a seether for being willing to drop the A-bomb to end the war in the Pacific.

What a pantload - two deceased Dem presidents had far more balls and common sense than the likes of Simpson and Baker could ever dream of having.

Simpson shows he is in the terminal states of Mad Pol Disease - where too much time within the Beltway turns a man's mind into mush, incable of clear-thought and only thinking of his next ego feeding.

Simpson reminds us why we never liked him. Unreliable, poll-driven opinion.

Why they put him on this commission is beyond me. But Sandra Day was just as dumb a choice.

What's fun here is the win-at-any-cost 100%ers will try to use this article to bash on the conservative 100%ers at FR (borders, pro-family).

Simpson's behavior at the unveiling of the report yesterday was similar to a court jester.
He continued his hardee har har corn pone schtick on the circuit last night.
All that was missing was the seltzer bottle and the trick flower on his lapel.
The ISG report was apparently the member's version of open mike night at the Improv .
Their jovial behavior was totally inappropriate and disgusting.
The laughing and guffawing, the jokes, the ear to ear smiles and of course the shoulder dislocations from patting themselves and each other on the back .
Buffoons and media whores. The whole lot of them.

Iran hates us," Simpson said. "They may not even want to come to the table... They may hate our guts, but there's something they hate more. That's anarchy in Iraq."
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

Then if they hate anarchy in Iraq, then let's give it to them. We can solidify the outer provinces and Kurdistan and sit back and watch the Sunnis and Shias fight each other until one defeats the other, or until they reach an agreement. How does that hurt our interests. Its like two boys in the schoolyard. Sooner or later they have to fight. If you keep breaking it up before it gets resolved it just goes under the surface and festers. This has been festering under Sadam for quite some time. If Iran hates the uncertainty of knowing who rules Iraq let's make sure they never find out. In reality we rule Iraq. We really should import pigs, dogs, alcoholics, prostitutes, Jews and Christians into the area and really give them something to wonder about. (smile)

I guess that includes Roosevelt and Churchill for foolishly demanding unconditional surrender in WWII.

I saw Baker on TV last night.

He said two things that interested me:

1. Iran would love to see us bogged down in Iraq.
2. Iran has a vested interest in a stable Iraq.

I spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how both of these could be true.

(hint: They can't be. They have 0 vested interest in a stable Iraq, and a lot of interest in a chaotic one.)

"one of the most vexatious problems of our lives,"

In my experience, when a problem proves difficult to solve, you're trying to solve it the wrong way.
