New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a former UN ambassador, was named as the Organization of American States' special envoy on migration in an effort to improve US-Latin American dialogue.
The appointment came amid heated debate in the United States over illegal immigration, as US lawmakers consider proposals to deal with the 11.5 million undocumented workers, mostly Latin Americans, living in America.
"The migration issue is key to improving relations (between Latin America and the United States," Richardson, 59, said at a news conference alongside OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza.
"Dialogue and democracy are very important and I hope to help the secretary general with advice and trips to countries to improve dialogue," he said in Spanish.
Richardson said he was ready to visit leaders who have been critical of the United States in hopes of improving relations.
"I know president (elect of Nicaragua Daniel) Ortega, I know (Venezuelan) President (Hugo) Chavez, and I will go to any country," said Richardson, whose mother is Mexican.
Richardson, whose state borders Mexico, rejected plans backed by President George W. Bush to build a huge fence along the US-Mexico border to stop the flow of illegal immigration.
Instead, he called for comprehensive reform to regularize undocumented workers.
"Two things must take place. One, a plan to legalize the 12 million (illegal) immigrants in the United States, and I think that it is important to improve border security," he said, pointing to the need for increased patrols and more cooperation with Mexico.
Richardson was a UN ambassador and energy secretary under former president Bill Clinton. The Democrat has not ruled out running for his party's nomination in the 2008 presidential election.
The money quote..
Nothing better than saying "Come on in, the country is ready for you to take over for us dem's"
Even more reason to put a bounty on EVERY ILLIGALS HEAD, so we can rid ourselves of this menace!
Brazen NAU/FTAA agenda PING
Mr. Richardson needs to be removed from office ASAP for violating his oath.
The Globalist agenda has been picking up steam for quite a while now.

There was nothing wrong with my posting #8 on this thread. Please replace it.
Respectfully
I wonder if Richardson had to arm wrestle Perry for this appointment?

You're imagining things again, hedgetrimmer. (Just thought I'd throw that in before the open border minority did!)
Anyone that can't see the handwriting on the wall (or lack of wall) isn't trying. Be it "R" or be it "D", the fix is in.
BORDER PING
Scary.
WTF is a "migration envoy" We truly live in and era where Americans compete against each other in selling out America to damn foreigners. Especially if there is a buck to be made
Why can't we remove these people from office?
I am researching right now, trying to determine what legitimacy this organization has. As far as I can tell, its purpose is two-fold: to be a UN-like body that superimposes "international law" over national sovereignty; and, that aims to remove trade barriers.
"The Organization of American States (OAS; OEA in the other three official languages) is an international organization, headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States. Its members are the 35 independent states of the Americas." (wikipedia)
Richardson is not being appointed by the U.S. govt... altho the org. is HQ'd here ... but by an international body. It is not clear to me what this appointment means, but it seems inappropriate for a duly-elected governor of a U.S. state. He is supposed to be governing New Mexico, not fooling around in foreign affairs.
Yeah, riiiiight...
and Gov Richardson has declared that he's a DemonRAT running for the party nomination for President of the U.S.. That's just not right!!!
Totally in line with Linda Kimball's article I pinged you to the other day.
I'm sick; and I think it's FUBAR.
He is not a head of state, he is NOT a member of the state department, and he has not been approved by the U.S. Senate, and therefore is not legally elegeable for this position.
Looks like his FIRST allegiance is to this international organization, on whose behalf he will be lobbying WITHIN this nation for open borders.
AND, he sits in the Governor's chair for another 4 years ... well, technically. As we know, Governors are well-positioned to become Presidential candidates and, then, President.
Wonder how his fund-raising is coming along...
See all that chaos in Mexico and dictatorial rule in Venezuela? See that new leftist Indio in charge of Bolivia. That's what the elitists like Bill Richardson want to bring here. Latin style chaos
It is happening here now as we speak. More and more protests, demos, etc. here in the City of Angels...:((
Yep that's the Modern DemonRATS SOCIALISTS trough and trhough.
And this former Clinton butt-boy has said he will run for President in 2008. Ought to be a real knee-slapper of a campaign...
I'm sure Richardson's good pals Ortega and Chavez will have the solution.
/s
I can't believe that boob mentioned those two dictator clowns as friends publicly! He can kiss his election prospects goodbye with those friendships. That's WHO HE HANGS AROUND WITH.
He was recently heard shilling for Hugo's voting machine company. That suggests that he and Hugo are a little cozier than just handshakes.
No American is legally eligible for the job. The purpose of the OAS is to further the "Bolivian" revolution, that is the idea of Simon Bolivar to create one country out of the western hemisphere.
Richardson is fully in line with our President however, his daughter is working for the UN in South America. The same president whose just bought land in Paraguay, ostensibly to retire there.
Our government is almost completely corrupt at this point.
Don't forget he ran the Energy department while Wen Ho Lee was stealing the American people's nuclear secrets.
I have the feeling that if we shake this rotten Richardson political log, there's no telling what else will come out. He's leaking and spilling cockroaches already - no sane person is friends with Hugo Chavez. Not even the Mexican or Peruvian presidents will go near him.
You legalize 12 and you'll be run down by 20.
I haven't forgotten.
I thought butt-boy Billy was bad. Until I saw Hazel O'Leary. She was in the finest tradition of every female loser bureaucrat you ever saw. Completely and totally useless.
Don't forget Clinton appointee Doris Meissner too. She now runs an international NGO promoting unlimited immigration to the US (although, like Richardson) she calls it 'migration'.
We need pictures. I'm sure we can find them...

Who would have thought that birds and butterflies trying to escape winter would cause problems with Mexico?
Ronald Reagan is rolling in his grave at the speed of light.
Have any citizens of New Mexico read this article? What will you do about your rogue governor?
"I am researching right now, trying to determine what legitimacy this organization has."
If you haven't seen this website, try it. The Bush administration and the State Department approve. Of course, Colin Powell approves as he signed us into this mess on 9/11 .

This is the resolution that I guess gives Bush the opportnity to give away billions in American taxpayer dollars. Notice the signing date.
While the 2 yahoos were talking about "regularization" with Mexico and the rest of Latin America with taxpayer dollars, we get attacked.

Thanks for the double ping, hedge! After reading through this thread, my first question is, where are the FROBLs?
I suspect they somehow know this is coming. I don't know what affilations they have or what they'll gain from this but, most real red-blooded Americans would see this as a very BAD thing for our country.
Ah, yes, good old Doris. Another loser from the Clinton Useless Female Bureaucrats collection...
The wonder of it all is that we have so many fools that still trust the federal government. The good news is that this is a group in decline.
