Dec. 8, 2006 A military convoy is making its way through a crowded Baghdad street. Without warning, a blast rings out and the Bradley fighting vehicle leading the convoy is destroyed, along with the men and women it carried.
A crowd of what appears to be civilians rushes the decimated vehicle, surrounding it, and units are called in to calm the situation and secure the Bradley. The crowd grows unruly. Units on the scene fear that insurgents or sympathizers may have blended into the crowd and are attempting to loot the vehicle of ammunition and parts.

PC types observing this technology advocated this system being fielded domestically BEFORE being used abroad.
Something logical only to a hyper-legal culture.

"The big concern is exactly what it's going to be used for and do we want a weapon that simply causes pain because there are all sorts of ways that this could be misused," said David Hambling... Like misusing M-16s, napalm, car bombs.
Oops, we don't use car bombs. Sorry.
These whiney liberals think any use of military force is 'misuse.'

Sounds like a waste of good technology, when a machine gun would serve the same purpose.

Prediction: The weapon will be tested and found to be very effective.
It will never make it to the battlefield.
It will be drowned in Politically Correct bullshit.

IIRC we still have .50 calibers in the inventory.
We don't need a weapon like this for this situation.
Anyone approaching an attacked convoy that ain't dressed just like us should get hosed down with 671 grain projectiles.
That'd end the problem.

this appears to be approximately the same thing as the ultrasonic transducers used to excite the cells on wrinkled faces to cause very minor swelling which conceals the wrinkles nicely and temporarily.

"A crowd of what appears to be civilians rushes the decimated vehicle,"Flag on the field for an illiterate journalist pretending to know the meaning of the word "decimated".
No need to read any further.

..."the Bradley fighting vehicle leading the convoy is destroyed, along with the men and women it carried. "...
I don't know - are women commonly aboard Bradleys on combat patrols? Or is this another case of MSM PC BS?
OTT, I think flamethrowers would be a fine crowd control implement. They worked very well against the Japanese in the Pacific war, I'm sure they would have an edifying effect on muslims.

Problem is with these mental midgets is that they don't take into consideration that nonlethals are useless when people are shooting AK-47 and RPGs at your butt!
OF course nothing will make these A$$clowns happy, short of surrender

And 'without warning' distances the crowd from the fact. I am constantly amused by the (mis)use of 'civilian' and 'citizen.' The journalists are so conscious of and conscientious in thier use of epithets in other applications, but not here.
