The liberals may be against you owning for self-defence, but they most certainly will not be against owning arms themselves to attack you. Don't underestimate their willingness to take up arms against fellow Americans, and their ability to use them.

Nonsense, all of it. Most folks, whatever their political leanings, just want to come home after a good days' work, play with the dog and the kids, eat dinner, catch the game on television, and hope they get lucky with their significant other after everyone's gone to bed.
Card--and lots of others, evidently--need to step away from their PCs for a few days and get some real-world perspective. This blogospheric 'connectedness' is leading to some fairly outrageous disconnection.
