MOSCOW -- Law enforcement officers searched an opposition group's office in Moscow, an activist said.
About 20 people who identified themselves as security and criminal police officers raided the office of the United Civil Front headed by former world chess champion turned fierce Kremlin critic Garry Kasparov, his aide, Marina Litvinovich, told The Associated Press.

Kasparov has forecast the possibilities, I think.
He may feel the cause worth risking his life.

No doubt, but one should only sacrifice to gain advantage. I see no advantage to his cause if Kasparov is imprisoned, assassinated, or somehow compromised. The journalist, Anna Politkovskaya, was murdered for the cause Kasparov believes in, but I think the world would've been a better place with her in it. Same for Kasparov.
"I was defending Russia's colors for 20 years, playing chess for the Soviet Union and Russia. And I'm defending its colors now," he said. ==
He didn't defend Russia' colors but he defended Soviet Union' color.
