Heh, maybe they just think anyone wanting to head what is probably the most moribund state GOP in the nation is a hoot and a half. It's beyond shocking to see what 16 years of liberal RINOs managed to do to the party, going from nearly competitive statewide in '90 (and only 5 seats short of winning the State Senate) to caucusing in a phonebooth in '06. If you win the position, I'll offer you my prayers. The only parallel to the job would be serving as a GOP Chair of a Deep South state in the '50s... in a state that was, up until that time, one of the most Republican in the nation.
