Damon: Maybe Bush twins should go to Iraq (Maybe Damon should go to Iraq)

WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- In an interview in Washington, actor Matt Damon suggested that President George W. Bush's daughters "maybe" should join the military.

Damon and actor Robert De Niro were guests on the MSNBC cable show, "Hardball with Chris Matthews," promoting their upcoming movie, "The Good Shepherd." Directed by De Niro, the film is an account of the early history of the CIA.

During the interview, scheduled to air Monday, Damon talked about the fairness of fighting the war in Iraq with a volunteer Army.

"I don't think that it's fair as I said before, that it seems like we have a fighting class in our country that's comprised of people who have to go for either financial reasons or, I don't think that that is fair," said Damon, 36. "And if you're gonna send people to war ... then that needs to be shared by everybody, you know, and if the president has daughters who are of age then maybe they should go too."

The president's daughters -- Jenna and Barbara Bush -- are 25.

I liked the Jason Bourne movies, but this guy is a just a typical Hollywood Millionaire jerk.

First of all, he insults our troops, yet again, with the John Francois Kerry smear: "All out troops are too stupid and uneducated to do anything else" crappola.

Then he tries to hide behind the skirts of women.

Hey Mr. Secret Agent Tough Guy Wannabe - why don't you go out and serve this great nation?

The closest he ever got to our nation's uniform was when he was given one from the wardrobe department in a movie. Oh, and he got paid a few million dollars to wear it for a few weeks while pretending to be a real soldier.

Pathetic.

The truth is, he is a miserable excuse for a man, and he attacks two innocent young women in order to spew his hatred and his cowardice.

He'll volunteer to go to Darfur I'm sure. After all, that's a good thing we could do per the liberals and "one we can win" according to Clooney. So, as soon as the UN gives the go ahead and Oprah gives her consent he'll sign up. I'm sure of it.

Have to wonder about "tough guys" who pretend at being a secret agent yet slur and slander this country at the same time.

If he wasn't an actor, he'd probably be one of those guys who you meet in bars who lie about being Navy Seals.

I figure Damon would get "recycled" a couple of times and then finally washed out of boot camp if he joined the Marines.

So I guess Damon agrees that Chelsea Clinton should have gone to Kosovo.

"I don't think that it's fair as I said before, that it seems like we have a fighting class in our country that's comprised of people who have to go for either financial reasons or, I don't think that that is fair," said Damon

Damon took a little from Kerry, a little from Rangel, and added a healthy dose of his own stupidity and incoherence.

""And if you're gonna send people to war ... then that needs to be shared by everybody......"

Interesting how the liberals trumpet this now, but many were OK with people avoiding a previous war by going to Canada.

Hwy Matty!. How would you like to compare the percentages of actors who have higher educations vs the enlisteds? For that matter compare how many actors are even literate at all compared to the enlisteds.

Matt, you look healthy and since you are concerned with the class struggle I am sure you are ready to enlist today.

Agreed. I'm surprised at how pessimistic everyone is on this thread. Why, it's clear as can be that this was his way of acknowledging his obligation!
