Remember back when Rick Warren was adamantly denying that his inviting Barack Obama to his HIV conference had anything to do with politics?

Well - if that's the case - why is it that he's now TALKING POLITICS on CNN and sending the message that "Obama's Da Man"?

Good old rick is wallowing in the approval of the MSM. It won't last long before he has a rude awakening.

I am just saying... that there are libs who are not for abortion and our christians. I would give you their names but it would not help, they are just people and not in leadership. I stated that I used to think there was no way you could be a christian and be a lib, but after meeting and knowing some of these people, it is clear that they do not believe in all of the libs causes, just as their are consvs who do not go 100% GOP agenda.

I heard that happens and the church calls the ex-parishoners new church and tells the new pastor they are instigators.

Rick Warren's greatest desire is to become a celebrity, he's doing well at it. He wants access to the beautiful people, fawning press attention, etc.

He has found another man as shallow as himself in Barack Obama. They justify each other, even though deep down, both of them know they are frauds.

They look at each other and say "you complete me".

If his personal opinion is whacko on things like the ultra-left Obama, then it stands to reason that his other opinions on things Biblical are also just as whacko...it goes to show his sense (or lack thereof.)

What the hell is with the verbal copulation over Obama?? I tried to watch the Sunday talk shows this week, and it seemed like everyone was litterally masterbating while fantasizing about Obama.. it was disturbing.

Like watching a bunch of brainwashed cult addicts marching to their orders.

A guy who's 2 years in the Senate somehow is God and Cult-like????? Sorry, but I'm just not buying that $hit and shinola they are selling.

Let him ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, and then we can talk.

I know! But their party platform is pro-choice. They vote for people who support the pro-choice position and put godless atheists like Leahy, Kennedy, Durban et al. They enable evil and will be held accountable.

It sad but lots of good Germans voted for the Nazis too. The true sense of how real righteous justice is dealt with in a situation like this was brilliantly dealt with in the movie "Judgement At Nuremburg"

For the Wonkette, it's probably not just "seemed like".

He's what everyone wants: a blank slate onto which they can project what they want. But the guy is really just another socialist who, based on one excerpt from his book, really doesn't seem to understand what the government of the US is supposed to do or why it was set up.

The Right Stuff? Has Rick Warren spent too much time with Ted Haggard?

This is what actually was said:

WARREN: I think he has good character. I think both Sam Brownback and Barack Obama -- the reason I invited them both, first, they'll tell you the truth. They're not just going to beat around the bush. They'll tell you what they believe. And I appreciate that.

Second, they're men of civility. And I'm so tired of the rudeness we've got in our society where people are just mean to each other. We need to return to civility, which says, I treat you with respect even if I violently disagree with you. That we've lost the "civil" in civilization.

BLITZER: Are the American people ready for an African-American president?

WARREN: Oh, I think so.

I really don't see where Townhall gets their conclusion that Rev. Warren endorsed Barack Obama. Also, Rev. Warren seems to be saying he likes civility and believes an African-American could be President of the United States.

Where is the beef?

Bill Graham's son was on TV talking about a program to provide Christmas presents to children in poor nations.

He echoed what others are saying about his dad and also he said it about himself: They don't consider politics as part of their ministry.

I went to a church for years that probably attracted more people on the left, but never got into politics in our pulpit.

The church would recognize important holidays (not just religious ones, we prayed for all presidents.

I think if my minister had been out visibly in public supporting candidates, and showing his own political leanings, then I am certain I would have been very suspicious about what was behind any future messages from the pulpit.

Similar thing happened with Tony Campolo. He went "soft" on a lot of things that many Christians would take issue with.

It's known as "jumping the shark"!

The sad part of "jumping" is that once you've jumped you can never jump back.

YOu hit the nail on the head.

Narcissism + ego = Rick Warren

He hit a home run with that book of his, but now what does he do to get back in the spotlight again?

He has chosen two routes: Attach himself to politicians and attach himself to global aids. With Obama, he is killing two birds with one stone.

I hate when that happens. I'm in no way a follower or fan of Rick Warren or any other "famous" preachers. I have read his books though.

What is is with people like this? They start out good. Get too big for their britches and immediately sell out and get really really stupid.

_____

Most of go through this process ONCE in our teenage years, where we think we have everything figured out and are smarter than our parents and everyone else. This "age of enlightenment" narcissism usually doesn't last very long.

Celebrities go through this process TWICE. The second time they think, "you see, I AM smarter than everyone else, why else would I be famous" I must lecture to the little people on all that I know. "God chose me to be famous for a reason", I'm going to change the world.

Some celebrities recover from this second overdose of ego, others don't.

Let me now repeat my prediction for Rick Warren:

Videotaped 3 hooker, cocaine fueled hotel orgy.

Is it any different from what we have seen throughout Biblical history?. Consider the way both David and Solomon had their moments as well.
