New York, 18 Dec. (AKI) - Serbs living in the United States are reported to be deeply disturbed and worried by recent arrests of fellow Serbs in connection with the 1990s Balkan wars, community leaders have said. In a six-state swoop, American agents arrested 13 Serb immigrants last week and are looking for another three who are still at large. One of those arrested, Nedjo Ikonic, is being investigated for allegedly having taken part in the massacre of up to 8,000 Muslim men and boys in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica when it was overrun by Serb forces in July 1995.
If convicted, Ikonic and other suspects face up to ten years in jail and deportation from the US. "These cases demonstrate our resolve to identify and prosecute those who enter the US under false pretences," said deputy attorney general Paul McNulty. "Especially those who hide their military past," he added.
Those arrested were poor immigrants who had no money for lawyers of bail to defend themselves from freedom, the Serbian consul in Chicago, Desko Nikitovic, told Vesti daily. He said Serbia could not help them because most were Bosnian citizens.
"Unfortunately, this is a huge operation in which only Bosnia-Herzegovina can intervene with Washington. No-one needs to spoil the relations between our two countries, which have been improving," said Nikitovic.
Milwaukee lawyer, Nikola Kostic, said he was trying to organise a team to offer legal help to the arrested and their families, because neither Serbia nor Serb organisations in America have shown much interest in helping the suspects.
"Serbs are being hunted throughout America, but no one is checking Bosnian Muslims and Croats who have immigrated to the United States in the past 10-15 years," Zika Petrovic of Denver, Colorado, told Vesti. "No one asks them whether they have concealed what they did in the wars, what army they served and whether they committed crimes against Serbs," Petrovic said. "All this is creating an unfortunate impression that the war against Bosnian Serbs has now shifted to US soil," he concluded.
Vesti, distributed throughout Serbian emigre community - which numbers a million in the US - said that there is a list of over 300 people, submitted to the United States by Bosnian authorities and the United Nations' Yugoslav war crimes tribunal, who are suspected of having committed crimes during the 1992-1995 Bosnian civil war.
Officially, the suspects are being charged for failing to report to immigration authorities that they served in the Bosnian Serb army, which fought against local Muslims. (Vpr/Aki)

Many of your arguments are based on attempting to associate 911 with the Muslims in Bosnia, something which became very popular after 911. It’s a poor argument since the connections are weak at best (Another fallacy). I could literally construct a better argument for attacking Italy, Germany, or France, which are our allies in the GWOT. And yes, such an argument would be stupid. As said several times already, the foundation of your arguments are logically flawed, you argue with cliché, you attack personally, but you have little to no “substance” to back your “opinions”.
You have a “Feindbild” (A good German word since there really is no English equivalent in meaning that entails the some spirit of this word), but you have no real arguments to back it. The Germans likewise were taught to hate the Jews years past, but they too had no real basis for their feeling towards these people who in WWI fought bravely along side of other Germans and died as well for their country. The Jewish community was an educated, hard working community rich in culture and scientific thinking. But if you look at the Nazi propaganda you will see a distortion of reality just like you attempt to distort. From Mao to Stalin or yes Milosevic and Hitler, these regimes tend to be sociopathic towards those they see as their enemies or lesser. You see, people live in worlds that are constructs of their perception. Often this is called a “paradigm” and it is based on some ideology. The simple minded only now that they have an opinion, but they don’t know why, nor how they got there. When such a simpleton is challenged in their views, lacking the ability to really debate the issue, they resort to name calling or fallacious arguments. One has to understand that the simpleton feels compelled to attack since accepting this new concept injected would crash his whole simple world view “Wahrnehmung”.
Example: If in the 1960s I would have debated a member of the Klu Klux Klan and told him that a black person does not have a lower IQ, but just on average less educational opportunities, he would attack me. Many of the arguments would have followed along the exact same lines of those you presented, since it’s essentially the same ethnocentric hate mongering we are hearing from you. The Klansman has to attack me in this case since accepting what I say would force him to change his whole world view “Wahrnehmung”.
Before 911, the excuse used by many Serbs as justification for the genocide against the Muslims was past atrocities by Muslims on them hundreds of years ago. These arguments, just like attempting to somehow force a connection to 911 today, are false pretenses to commit evil onto another people. No matter how you slice it, that unarmed Muslim woman that is raped, or some pregnant Muslim woman that is shot dead, did not pose a threat to your heroic Serbian militias as they swept the lands in Bosnia.
Most of Europe has moved on. The Germans today feel guilt because of the wrongs they committed. Most of Europe today is a safer place than ever before because of the culture. What happened in the Balkans is what we expect to see in Africa, not Europe. Even the colonial rulers of past applied a “rule of law” to their subjects. People like you are no different than the RPF in the Rwanda killings. You might as well take off your cloths, grab a machete, and go to town on some Muslim in Bosnia. In end affect you’re the same sort of savage as those killing people there.

You may want to see yourself as a Christian, a nation, cultured, and educated, but actions speak louder than words. Your behavior in the 90s was that of an uncultured mob, void of the rule of law, and with a sociopath tendency which is common in most regimes or mobs like that. If outsiders had not brought justice into this region, those responsible would still be free today. That alone speaks volumes for the people calling themselves “Serbs”.
