Man Who Looks Like Santa Kicked Out Of Disney

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Even during this time of year, not everyone is welcoming Santa.

A Florida man who looks a lot like Kris Kringle found that out on a recent visit to Walt Disney World, WESH 2 News reported.

J.D. Worley, 60, lives in Tampa. During a trip last weekend to Disney, he got a lot of attention from kids and adults, and he played along pretending to be Santa.

But then someone complained to Disney management.

"I needed to either alter my appearance or I needed to leave the park, because I was impersonating Santa Claus," Worley said. "I look like this 24/7, 365 days a year. This is me."

Disney managers said they didn't want Worley telling children he was Santa because they are trying to protect the magic of the holidays.

"I needed to either alter my appearance or I needed to leave the park, because I was impersonating Santa Claus,"

Doesn't *impersonating* imply the person you're pretending to be is real?

"I needed to either alter my appearance or I needed to leave the park..."

I wonder if Disney asks people to leave their Gay Day promotion based on appearance.

Disney management would toss this fellow out, but defend allowing 2 males on a stage buggering each other for real during Disneys "Gay Days" event? The place should be closed down!

Considering a Santa look-alike took a girl on a high speed motorcycle ride away from her family, maybe there was more wisdom in Disney's decision than first met the eye.
A kid a Disney sees Santa and thinks he's all hunky-dory. the parents would probably also assume Santa is a Disney employee. The bad possibilities are multiple.

Where at least "Gay Days" features "Honest perverts". ; )

I think this was very smart of Disney regardless of the blasts I will receive. You have some old man running around with kids impersonating Santa and you think this is OK? Get with it folks. I can just imagine the troubles this old man could cause if he is not the real deal and why should Disney have to risk it. Good decision for Disney!!!!!

There is a man in my town that looks just like Santa, we'd see him at the store and park. I used it for all it was worth when my kids were young. We'd see him in the grocery store and tell the kids he was watching to make sure they were good, they'd straighten right up, I could usually milk it for a couple of days.

We need a national law forbidding people to dress up like Santa Claus without a proper license. They should have to go through "safe-kids" verification, and training to ensure they don't make a mockery of the Santa franchise.

It's for the children.

(OK, I actually think it's OK for disney or any private group to take some steps to handle a situation like this. Not kick the guy out right off, just tell him that he can't pretend to be Santa or they will remove him.)

Where do you live?

My husband (who happens to be an Orthodox rabbi in real life) has a fluffy white beard and can be described as "portly." When little kids see him in the supermarket, he wiggles his eyebrows and says, "Santa knows whenever you are naughty or nice!"

He gets a kick out of it and so do the kids.
