I'm watching this. He sounds tired to me

I don't blame him - the reporters ask the same stupid questions at every presser

"Horrible voice - it matters."

Yes, Hillary has what's been described as an "ex-wife voice," a voice that simply annoys with its finger-wagging moralizing.

What was unfortunate about President Bush's response to the Mary Cheney question?

He said Mary will be a loving mother, and also that it's a private matter. Both true. Unless you think all gays should be sterilized and prevented from giving birth.

He avoided the trap with the Mary Cheney question

..disagree, he fell right into it by referring to her as a loving mother, as if there were a possibility of a normal parental relationship...

Imagine in WWII, everytime we ran into trouble from the Germans, leaders came out an whined, "we are losing!".

They probably did. No one remembers now.

Agreed on that point. Take the Clintons for example. I bet if you did an IQ test, Hillary would beat Bill. But Bill was president, and she won't be. She does sound like chalkboards being raked by nails, Bubba is smooth and polished. It's not about intelligence, it's about delivery.

There are science geeks who know alot, but are terrible public speakers. It's the same thing with athletes who are brilliant at their sport and lousy coaches because their knowledge doesn't translate well into teaching.

I'd be tired of the same old bait and trap questions.

LOL 'for those lucky enough to be going to Crawford'

I bet he can't wait to get down there!

Merry Christmas, Mr. President!

If you can't see W's lack of salesmanship skill has handicapped the war effort, I can't help you. That isn't about governing by poll, it's about justifying your vision and direction to the governed.

This isn't the only area it's harmed. It's threating tax policy, it killed Social Security reform, allowed government to expand. But those aren't as important as being able to sustain support for our troops in Iraq and, longer term, our ability to protect our interests and our allies.

We live in a very media-driven age with horrible attention spans. The White House has not been aggressive with its message and worse, it's starting to seem as if it's flailing about with the Rummy-will-stay-Rummy-is-gone and missteps especially with rhetoric. This is BAD for our troops and for the nation.

"Bet he loved BJClinton."

Good grief! Never in human history have so many words been used to say so little!

Also, Bill Clinton, the eternal child, never took responsibility for anything.

I sometimes think the press would rather have a phoney who can give a speech and lull them into thinking he is brilliant...someone like the tent/gospel/preacherman who is simply a conartist. Someone with a sophisticated speaking style. And they are still drooling over slickwilly which proves my point.

Give me a man of substance any day. Love him or hate him, President Bush is that man. A man of character and accomplishment. Gosh, I love our president.

"this administration's idiotic decision in the aftermath of 9/11 to topple one of the most secular, moderate governments in the Middle East at the time (the Ba'athist government in Iraq)."

So, you would then have had us look the other way in WWII when Hitler was gassing the Jews because he didn't like them? How can you call that government moderate when it tortured and killed thousands of its own people? When they were on their way (by all accounts at the time) to having nuclear weapons and refused, FOR YEARS, to allow the UN in to verify their compliance? When they stole aid for the welfare of their own people and used it to produce weapons? Maybe we should have just waited 'til they send a nuke into Israel? I really hope I misunderstood what you said, and please let me know if I did.

Britney Spears is so last week... I know the media is just dying to ask Bush if the news about the Miss USA girl makes him "pine for his younger years when he got drunk and did cocaine".

ALERT: This is a projection of the MSM!!! I am neither calling President Bush a drunk nor a cocaine addict!!!

Good thing he was so moderate....just ask the Kurds and the Shiites (Chem weapon victims) how moderate he was. Nice to see you trolling about today. Don't worry I won't be here long. I will agree that we should have gone after the more radical governments in the ME at the same time but I would put Iran, Syria and the PA at the top of the list.

No. Saying that Mary Cheney would be a loving mother was his opinion about her as a person.

There will be no soundbite for the MSM to use against him, nor for any Bush hater on the right for that matter.

He avoided the trap.

by referring to her as a loving mother, as if there were a possibility of a normal parental relationship...

Just because she is gay, it doesn't mean she'll be a bad mom! Yeesh.
