This is more important than it sounds. It obviously won't stop Iran from continuing to attempt to assemble the Bomb, but it's a slap in their face that they desperately wanted to avoid.
It might just make things worse, but it is an important development.
On top of the fact that the vote for sanctions was unanimous.

Possibly you're correct they wished to avoid the sanctions, but I'm sure they expected them anyway and are prepared to weather the storm. They care not a bit for international scorn. In fact they revel in such sentiments. I don't think it's that important except as to how the timing affects the progress of events. They knew it was bound to happen and they tried to delay and delay but eventually even the UN is bound to get off the dime and act. Well okay...not really act so they signed the official wrist slap paperwork. Now it's up to either us or Israel to act.
